I only just found out today that you can boil an egg in the hot springs, that rain puts out the fire keese, and that being wet gives Link a few seconds of protection of heat damage. I swear this game is the gift that just keeps giving, it's just insane how in depth its mechanics are.

First splatfest resulted in a loss

Not sure how the matchmaking worked since it seemed I would be paired with teams that are much better than you would think their power level would be

January 18 Direct is actually happening. Nintendo Russia just posted about it. http://www.nintendo.ru/-/17-01-2018-1328637.html. This says about some probably new game for those who are still kids at their souls. 

Damn, he beat me up to it.It seems that a new direct is comming, but its theme is about a "New way" to play for those who are kids, or those who are kids at heart.
It seems to me that a new acessory is comming, and about 2 or 3 games will be announced around this new way to play.Here I am hoping that it is Mario Party and that game, outside of having this new way to play, is based on the first three games!

And its happening in less than 12 hours!

That's my thought too.. I feel if it were a Direct-style event then they would have said as much. However the way Nintendo has described the event doesn't give me much hope:

Zzzzzzz. Switch has some attachment that does some thing that Nintendo thinks will appeal to kids, but won't, the Direct.

Whatever it is, it was announced day of, so expect something pretty small in the grand scheme. But do expect a bunch of hairbrained doom threads following it though.
