Uh aren't these spoilers?

I wouldn't say everything. The updates we got, didn't give me the impression that Nintendo themselves were confident on the details of it. It seemed to be a bit in the air.

We don't know how the VC will be integrated. Will all games from the VC fall under the service in the future?

Will there be digital discounts if you have the service? (Iwata talked about such features in the past.)

Not every little detail of course but the most important stuff a.k.a. price. What exactly did they say that makes you think they're gonna change things?

Besides the drop rate skills, you can really use what you want. I didn't forge anything extra because it costs money, and money can be used to buy EXP for the characters you don't like to play as. Weapon skills only grant minor advantages in a game that isn't difficult most of the time.

You can attempt history mode battles with 20 levels below the recommendation and come out victorious, but it depends on the map objectives and getting an S-rank will be an uphill battle. Failure only costs you time and item drops, but you get to keep the earned EXP which tends to be quite good because the enemies grant more when you are so underleveled. The drawback is that it takes longer to defeat individual enemies, so it's not something I'd recommend for grinding levels. View such uphill battles as a chance to unlock better weapons sooner and nothing more. There is plenty of stuff to complete anyway, so specifically grinding for EXP isn't needed.

Yep, I'm really not paying a lot of attention to other skills besides those three skills for weapon grinding. I was wondering if the game gets hard enough that I really have to pay attention to weapon skills, but if you could advance fairly easy I think that won't be an issue in the end.

I had to go for it since I figured that'd be the only really challenging missions I'd get in this game. Now that all my units are Lv.50 or higher and the highest difficulty seems to be Lv.80, it's only going to get easier from here on so it was definitely worth the limited time experience! Actually having to use almost all staves n potions was a nice change of pace!

The Strong # skills make more of a difference than Rainstorm, and the slayer skills are extremely good (on maps where they're relevant ofc), well worth the damage decrease which also doesn't stack and doesn't affect upgraded personal weapons. Wingslayer/Dracoslayer + Armorslayer and the Pegknights are effective against almost everything. Didn't care much for Hinoka before but damn is she legit in this game!

I really like playing Hinoka. I feel that there're a lot of sword users already, so using a spear with Hinoka/Cordelia or an axe with Frederick/Camilla is a nice change of pace. What I don't get already is if magic units like Daraen are really useful in the game. I did a map in the History mode which was "only magic", but except for a few cases when some enemies are a bit weak to magic, generally speaking I haven't saw any map which was worth it. Same with Tiki. In every map I've played since I got her, she was weak to almost every unit XD. I keep leveling them up when I can though, because I'd probably encounter some more maps which I'll use only magic units, and I don't want to be severely under-leveled. Archers at least are really useful in some maps, because I could almost insta-kill aerial units.

Also, I'm guessing that the FE rule of "don't use the master seal until you reach the level cap" doesn't apply in this game at all? I mean, I won't wait to lvl 99 to promote my units XD.

Well, on another topic, and I'll keep this in spoilers because it's something about SMO and as long as I know this thread is spoiler-free so...

I reached 500 moons and tried the Darker Side of the Moon level. Holy shit, it's awesome. But I didn't expect it to be so, so, so long. This level is really unforgiving. No checkpoints, and if you screwed up once, you're at the beginning of the level. I feel that it's less difficult that Champion's Road on 3DW, but it's so, so long that it's hard not to make a minimal mistake. Having a lot of fun with it though.

Uh, who the heck is Daraen? xD

If you meant Robin, Leo, or Elise, the only Tome users in the base game, they are definitely good. Their Strong I is extremely great, easily chainable into combos (namely after Leo/Elise's Strong V) and when fully charged brings up the gold stun gauge against any unit. Magic damage in general is good, as aside from other mages only Pegknights have high resistance, but Wingslayer says sup! I'm obviously biased as Elise is my favorite character, but even objectively I'd argue she's one of the best units in the game.

Tiki though yeah, she's kinda meh until you fully upgrade her. What's great about her is she can access awakening mode faster and stay in it longer way better than everyone else, but this doesn't become that effective until you get all the awakening and musou upgrades. The materials you need are very uncommon so you'd have to go out of your way grinding for them which is annoying. Armored Blow is a very useful skill for some characters though. And yeah, don't hesitate to use master seals asap.

What Rol said. I'm used to call him that way, so it kind of got stuck in my head. I haven't tried a lot magic units, guess I have to give them a chance. It's just that I don't feel really comfortable with them. Though I agree that Elise is the best of the bunch.

Bring Digimon! I don't get why NamcoBandai doesn't bring more Digimon games to Nintendo platforms, when it's obvious there's an audience for it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Nice to hear a company admitting their mistake and admitting they aren't infallible.  Unlike Capcom insisting that their BS testing is just "the way it's done for all new platforms".

Switch seeing some healthy 3rd party numbers. Don't feel like making a thread myself:

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Good news for the long term indeed. This is what Nintendo is working for with their increased effort on the 3rd parties.
