Phil Spencer Talks About Xbox One X Release in Japan: “I Will Never Give Up on Japan”

He explained that release dates for the console for specific markets will be announced at a later date. It will go on sale in most regions on November 7th, and the goal is to keep launches in specific countries as close as possible to that date.

Spencer also admitted that Japan is not the biggest market for Xbox, but for him it’s a very important market, and he definitely wants to release the new console there. He recognized that the country has a very passionate game community, and promised that he will “never give up on Japan.”

On top of that, Spencer also explained that he’s seeing that Japanese developers are having a renaissance, and Xbox needs to make more efforts to support Japanese game fans. To that effect, he’d like them to continue providing feedback.

That does sound good, for xbox users.

Though Id argue that most of that crowd probably have a PS4.

I must have missed the memo... seriously.  I'll look into it.

Well I guess Phil didn't get the memo, that Japan gave up Xbox ~2001. Its nice to see that they are still supporting it, but the question has to be asked, how much money could they possibly make (or loose) by selling 20k XoX-es there.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

They already did a long time ago

Phil's that ex that stalks the girl until he's too old to sneak about.
Japan doesn't want you, Xbox, Get over it and move on.

Yeah well Japan gave up on Xbox in 2002.
