The market determines what a product such as this is worth and from early buzz $80 doesn't seem to bother people that want it. They want this, they don't want a NEO GEO or Genesis collection.

This is coming from someone who thought the Switch was priced a little too high. I was wrong, people spoke and said it was a good value.

I'm aware of the legal distinction, but I don't let my opinions on what's morally correct be defined solely by the legal system. If you do, that's your choice.

And if you are the one 'making' a copy. You're still in violation of the law.

I still have a functioning SNES in good working condition and I own the majority of the games listed. I still am fine paying $80 for this, and am fine if others don't as make it easier to find one.

20 four to five star games in an all-in-one box for less than $4 a pop is a ripoff?

1. The reason sega failed is because their games weren't as appealing as Nintendos. Now days they are even less appealing. Nintendo games have the highest value retention of any gaming company, even decades after release. Each of the SNES games would have cost like $5-10 on virtual console (so  a $105-210 value for $80).

2. They probably had a harder time getting key third party companies to agree to put those games in this bundle due to the popularity of SNES era games (compared to NES games which feel horrible) and those companies thinking they can just make more money off selling the games individually.

3. Has it occured to you that they have like $15 billion in money and they know what they are doing? It's more than likely that they think this will appeal to older fans who aren't as likely to buy a switch (which is why they are making less in my opinion) and for us younger folks who ALSO want the SNES mini that we will be satisfied buying these games on our Switchs when the VC is released. Yes, a lot of people want this and the NES mini still, but in a year from now maybe no one will be complaining because the VC on the switch could be that awesome. Give it time. I don't plan on buying this until I know what the VC will look like on the Switch. It would have to be horrible for me to want to buy a SNES instead of these games on the switch because the SNES mini, like the NES mini, simply isn't convenient (nothing is, really) compared to the Switch. Nintendo changed everything with this little rectangle.

Want to know what's a ripoff? Paying $25 for a new Blu-ray for a 80-180 minute long movie or $20 for a 60 minute CD. But a mini console for $80 with two controllers, 100's+ hours of gameplay and enjoyment is a ripoff? Gamers are getting cheap and whine too much. Video games are a luxury and not a necessity. People will vote with their wallets and others will pirate. You don't need to play video games and the Big 3 don't owe you a damn thing!

Btw I don't think Movies and Music are a ripoff inherently, but compared to video games they don't provide nearly as much bang for your dollar.
