Mario Odyssey - I am worried about this one.  Nintendo really should be going 2D with Mario, the proof is in the sales figures.  I was giving Odyssey the benefit of the doubt because Nintendo made great strides in open world with Zelda, but I think the game might have serious issues with the cornball theme song and strange mix reality and fantasy.  Nintendo needs Mario to perform, they have no other guaranteed hits until Pokemon.

Overall, I'm not worried about the Switch line up, I'm frustrated because Breath of the Wild gave us a glimpse of the same "Winner Nintendo" I saw on Wii and DS.  I like Winner Nintendo.  Super Mario Odyssey, Yoshi, Xenoblade these are Loser Nintendo products.  They're fun in their own right, and I don't want to see them go away, but the only way I'm going to see, say, a proper Final Fantasy sequel (or even reamake) on Switch is if Winner Nintendo gets out there and sells 80 million+ Switches.

Of all the games we know about, are you really saying that Super Mario Odyssey is a "Loser Nintendo product"? Are you actually serious?

It was the best game at E3 2017, has the most views of any game on Nintendo's YouTube Channel, looks to be the most ambitious and creative Mario game ever, and has gotten an incredibly positive reception from the press and gaming public. Based on the Mario team's track record, it has a good chance of being the Game of the Year.

Was Super Mario 64 a "Loser Nintendo product"? Metroid Prime? Super Mario Galaxy? I can't even imagine the amount of ignorance it takes to look at one of Nintendo's masterpieces and say that it's something that losers make.

Even according to your own ridiculous standard of "winners only make games that sell really well," Super Mario Odyssey is more of a "Winner Nintendo product" than Breath of the Wild is.

Nope you still wouldn't see full third party support, see Wii.

Yeah, Nintendo has by far the worst first party software output, both in terms of quality and quantity. I think it's about time people started calling them out on it.

Are you being serious? Hell this year alone has stuff like super Mario Odyssey, metroid Samus returns, breath of the wild, fire emblem echoes, splatoon 2 among others. I would say last year had their worst line up in a good while but it still had some really good stuff

I'm not talking about specific years. Look at the first party outputs of Sony/MS/Nintendo for the last full generation.

Dude it's all personal opinion. If you look at the 90+ range I don't care for mlb, uncharted, god of war or killzone but I enjoy the hell out of all of Nintendo's 90+ games. Outside of pure numbers there are no objective facts when it comes to stuff like this. Also you have to factor in the handhelds which Nintendo does a way better job of supporting than Sony. The DS split Nintendo's output, if they released 10 Wii games they probably released 12 ds games

This should be the last thing on your mind, to tell the truth. Nintendo is Nintendo because of their 1st party content. They launched 2017 with 2 of their biggest franchises and I don't see any cracks leading into mid 2018. There's still Kirby and Yoshi in 2018. Nintendo has IP that people want and I'm sure they'll try to exploit them to do well on Switch. I mean, there could be another Paper Mario, Mario Party, 3D Zelda(Which has already started production), Star Fox if possible, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Pikmin Smash Bros., tons of retro revivals, etc. Nintendo can't spill all the beans in one year. Honestly, Nintendo has this covered. They had issues with HD development with WiiU because of course they were 1 generation behind but now they have the hang of development and can use Unreal to develop their titles. There will not be a shortage of 1st party titles.

No one cares about you not caring. Fact is Nintendo had the least amount of games and has the lowest average score for it's top games. Had the least amount of 90+ games, least amount of 80+ games. Had the least amount of successful IPs, and by far the least amount of New IPs successful or otherwise. I understand that there are people like you who love everything Nintendo and don't care for anything by anyone else, but barring that kind of biasedness, there's no way to argue againt the fact that Nintendo has the worst first party games.

Pokémon alone will ensure success, then there's other massive franchises such as Smash Bros and Animal  crossingto consider. I'm more excited by Switch than any other Nintendo console as the unified library means Nintendo can increase production of its software output. Yes the 3DS is still lingering, but it's only a matter of time before it's put out to pasture.

I don't think that's really a valid thing for you to say when the two highest rated first party games from that list were made by Nintendo, and it's looking to be a repeat with at least one of their games this year and gen

You should never worry about Nintendo first party software. When I see games like "Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale" or "Little Big Planet Karting", I say Sony is secretly a fan of Nintendo. What you think is a problem is really nothing at all. The Switch will be just fine.
