Forums - Gaming Discussion - A good example of why Sony Consoles always succeed.

Look at the best games of the year as decided by the gaming media: https://gotypicks.blogspot.com

2006- TES IV: Oblivion

2007- Bioshock

2008- Fallout 3

2009- Uncharted 2

2010- Red Dead Redemption

2011- TES V: Skyrim

2012- The Walking Dead

2013- The Last of Us

2014- Dragon Age: Inquisition

2015- The Witcher 3

2016- Uncharted 4

Every year's best game has been playable on a Playstation. XB1 missing 3 of these games. PC missing 4 of these games.Nintendo hasn't had access to a GOTY since Resident Evil 4. If that weren't enough Playstation exclsuives have been pretty high up in the GOTY running for most years even if they didn't win like Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, Uncharted 3, Journey, Bloodborne.

Basically if you wanted access to the best games a generation has to offer, Playstation has been the safest bet.

Do you guys think this will finally be the year when Playstation won't have the big GOTY winner? And also finally the year when a nintendo console gets that kind of title since Resident Evil 4?

Oblivion and Bioshock weren't available on the PS3 until one year after they came out on the 360. It also coincides with when Playstation was at its worse.

Compare it to Metacritic or a different page. One opinion isnt the one of the entire gaming community.

Will be a close race between horizon and zelda this year

Oomph, Game of the Year is very arguable. Many other titles get accolades and are considered among the best and yet are not included in your little list.

Playstation is the safest bet, no doubt, but gaming tastes are so various it is impossible to narrow it down to one single game per year. I'd say, it's the diverse offer more than having the creme de la creme. Many aren't even the best-selling titles of their respective year.

GOTY awards don't determine the success or failure of a console.

They also don't determine what was the best game of the year.

Yes! Thank you very much.

....Great deduction OP I am now enlightened by your great analysis

I didn't know Overwatch got more critic GOTY awards than Uncharted last year.

I am really wondering what was the point of pointing the obvious out to everybody? Sony consoles always sell, why do you need to show further proof of that?

I was expecting something else, but a valid point indeed. Sony has had a very wide range of great games with each of its playstations, without Nintendos excellent first party games Nintendo would have gone away like Sega.

Bethesda doing better on that list than I would have anticipated (although those games are good, on pc at least :)
