Forums - Politics Discussion - CNN Producer: Russia Narrative "mostly bulls--t right now", is manufactured for ratings

I ain't left. For fucks sake. Kill Hillary in cold blood, I'd be happy then too. Anyone who follows a political party in this country just needs to be beaten to death as it is. Burn the Republicans and hang the Democrats. If it all means Trump is killed, that's all that matters

Trump must really threaten you in major specific ways to take that position. I am curious what those threats are, or to what those threats are in your opinion. Democracy? Freedom? Healthcare? Peace? Looking good as an American to the rest of the world? Other?

(I want to start this discussion to learn whether the ends really can justify the means in this case. I do admit I have a preconception on the outcome, so I would appreciate an honest answer that would clarify, perhaps invalidate my preconception.)

Who the fuck believes the mainstream media anymore? I've said it time and again they have no proof (until they do, this is all bs), but they know Trump pulls in ratings. I don't think they're smart to realize they're the reason he won (lots of free advertising). I mean even with independent networks like TYT, they are clearly bias but at least dig into more than one stupid fucking story. I don't want this to be on every news report (other than terrorist attacks) in America for the next 2-3 years, or I'll just stop watching CNN entirely. I mean our CBC (government owned, and one I personally don't always like) would NEVER grind out a story like this. I remember the senate scandal a few years, and the coverage on that was while fair, not way way way way way way way way excessive.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

LOL, so I watched this video and its the same tripe I have seen from both parties when they try to paint a narrative. The first obvious part is the editing. You get the short sound bite and then try to lead that as a narrative that something is wrong. Let just think about this for a moment. The guy says that the Russian investigation is mostly BS because there hasn't been any smoking gun yet.

He is right and you know what, this thing probably would have gone away instead, Trump cannot get out of his own way and thus took an investigation that was going nowhere and brought it back to full focus.

Anyway the new situation is that 285 mill loan from Deusth Bank during the time they are under investigation for money laundering. This should prove to be entertaining for the next few weeks.

The investigation should run its course. It is pretty established that Russia interfered. Whether there was collusion with the Trump campaign is the question that needs to be answered.

The story never appeared on TV. The responsible reporters and investigators have resigned. CNN offered its mea culpa.

Also Trump won with 3 million less votes. Yes he won the electoral college. Yes he I'd President but do not act like the majority or even a plurality of Americans voted for him or support him. The right are acting all high and mighty because they eon on a technical anomaly.

I think what this video has established is that it has run its course...now its being proped up for polical reasons and money making reason.  Neither has nothing to do with news.  They fact that a news channel has done this is more news then their news.

Now cnn credibility rests entirely on whether or not any evidence is found.

Three things are going to happen

Investigation is closed/Offcially No Evidence found/  = Movement against Trump falls apart because Russian narrative will be used againsdems. (russia story becomes a joke/pun) despite this democrats still push the story further into the mud but people were burned out soo long on the story and now they dont trust media even more (shocking)

Investigation stays open forever/ STILL waiting for evidence/ = Movement platueas but dwindles./ Narrative gets old for everyone.  Media burnout.  People still dont trust the media.  Democrats push the narrative to the brink but everyone tunes them out except some dems get too radical and deep into it.

Investigation is closed/ Minute evidence found.= Very unlikely. Some trump dude talked to a russian dude about a what if scenario. if there was seriously colusion there would be some evidence by now or...the evidence is gone forever so that leaves speculation.  Movement goes nuts over speculation over whatever other evidence there could have been.  Story Still becomes a joke and hurts dems next election.

No scenario is good for dems.

They need to make a scenario

Ignore investigation till closes or evidence is found. Then pounce.

Find credible reason to go after trump that wont turn into a joke after 4 years......

REBUILD THE PARTY AND ITS PLATFORM /IDEALS.  Fire the democratic poster childs aka pelosi, warren, anyone with the last name clinton... anyone else that has been a democrative celebrity for the past 8+ years.

Get new BLOOD....Like mayor Pete buttigeug from south bend.  Go Grassroots across the board.  Go towards the middle. Help keep jobs here even if it means doing something you dont beleive in.  But do so it shows it was your idea.  Stop witch hunting companies owned and ran by us citizens.

DONT TALK ABOUT HEALTHCARE UNLESS YOU ADMIT DOUBLING ALMOST 100 PERCENT OF THE MIDDLE CLASSES HEALTHCARE AND SLASHING THEIR PAYCHECKS WAS A REALLY DUMB FUCKING IDEA. 4 YEARS OF APOLOGIZIES ARE ACCEPTABLE.

Look, he's doing a lot in his power to try to give a platform to science deniers, and that cannot be tolerated. If this were a small country what he says would hold no weight and have no true consequence, but he's constantly shown he has no regard for the environment, the health of others (idc about the healthcare stuff as much as him spreading misinformation about healthcare like vaccines causing autism... Jesus Christ >~>). What's important to me is that in the future my great grandkids live in a world that is working towards making renewable energy more affordable and effective. I don't need the environment being screwed over by this dipshit who gets all of his science facts from Christwire.com. He has no regard for it, you can tell by all the rollbacks he's put into place and having fucking Pruitt run, ruin, the EPA. And I don't care about the Paris Agreement as much I do what it says about this country, which is, we don't care about the planet we live on. And the short sighted idiots who will willingly trash it because they don't care how their grandkids will suffer, are people who deserve to be treated the same way they're screwing over the planet. And Im not going to sit around and pretend everything is fine when he's rolling back tons of shit as we speak. The fact he's giving those doubters a platform to influence others is enough for me to hate him. For him to screw over my kids is another thing entirely, especially when they shouldn't suffer because of idiots making dumb decisions before theyre born

As an American, my observation is that less than 25% of Americans actually take most news reporting at face value. Probably another 25% assume that everything they hear is total bullshit. The other 50% are somewhere in the middle - maybe they assume that the topic is probably relevant, but the specifics may or may not be accurate. I fall somewhere in the middle 50%, but towards the "total bullshit" end of the spectrum.

With that said, it has been pretty well proven over the years that everybody's news is bullshit to a significant degree. It is definitely not just American media.

That's kinda the problem. They scrutinize and spin everything he says. There is a reason why much of this media has lost credibility.

They also spend too much time specualting on what the Trump administration is doing versus what he actually says.

They are concentrating very much on what he says. And then he or his representatives come out either saying he didn't say it or that he didn't mean it or that Twitter isn't official and other bullcrap. The mainstream media focuses on every little thing and not just the big stuff. But the small stuff gets instantly deflected despite being most of the time the important things. That's why the media clings to the bigger things that have more traction.

You do not need to spin anything Trump says because most of the time he is just simply lying. If that is out of malice, fear or sheer ignorance doesn't matter.

http://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump

Saying that a statement he said is a lie is not spinning or witch hunting. It's stating the obvious. That's the beauty of the ignorance of his supporters. It doesn't matter what is said about Trump. It doesn't matter if CNN is spinning or lying or telling the truth. What matters to them is what Trump says and they will certainly never ever fact check anything he says.

This article is a great example as his supporters will take this single instance as undeniable proof that Trump never said anything wrong. As you can already see in this thread.

Yes, because reducing one's own credibility has always been a solution as opposed to adding to the problem.

Bear in mind that the producer they are talking to is part of CNN Health. His job would not involve any direct involvement in any stories involving Russia.

As for what he said, I don't see anything particularly damning. We all know that the media on both sides emphasize ratings. He didn't say or even insinuate that the stories are made up (aside from the one we know about).

If you and others of the left keep thinking/acting in this manner, you'll see a second term of trump again. Keep pushing the bullshit narractive of russia and hate trump at all costs.
