Forums - PC Discussion - Who here's being lured back to another Steam Summer Sale?

Looks like it's that time again... Time for you to make a bunch of impulse purchases on sale games at the Steam store that you "kinda" want, but half of which you will barely end up playing.

Thankfully there doesn't seem to be a whole lot I'm even on the fence about getting that's on sale this year, so the damage to my wallet should be at a minimum. But I'm a bit Switched out at the moment, and don't forsee myself playing it much until Splatoon 2 hits. There isn't a ton I want to get back around to playing on my Xbox One either once I finish Gears of War 4, excepct maybe for the occassion Forza Horizon 3 race and Far Cry Primal. So this does seem an opportune time to get back into some PC gaming-lite aka Steam.

After browsing the sales, I'm thinking:

The Witcher III: GOTY Edition - Need to see what the hype is about, and I'd like to get into another open world RPG after kind of being burnt out with Skyrim.

Lakeview Cabin Collection - friend has been raving about it, like the cartoony over the top violence along with the retro style

Life is Strange Season 1 (not 100% yet) - It's funny, this usually isn't my type of game, but I do find the time rewind idea neat, and after seeing a presentation of the prequel at E3, it's helped pique my interest in the story somewhat. Plus, I feel like I need to just try something completely different than what I'm used to playing. I did enjoy the Telltale GoT games so there's that..

Brings me to a total of just over 30 bucks, not too shabby, especially since all of these seem to contain DLC/extra content of some kind.

Tempted to pick up Stardew Valley as well, but now that it's coming to Switch I figure I'd rather just wait for that version. Same with Rocket League. Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition at 9 bucks is freaking tempting too. Played the non-DLC version to death with my cousin on 360, but that's almost worth it just for some up-ressed graphics and DLC alone.. Hmmm

What games are on your radar? Anything ground breaking or great deals in particular that stands out which I might be missing?

I just get the whole Half Life collection. I always critized Valve for not releasing HL3 but me myself never played the first 2 game, at least till now.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

After living on a tight budget the last few years I finally have some disposable income again and got to clear out a big chunk of my ever growing and long forsaken wishlist the other day. Despite the discounts, before I knew it I'd racked up a $300 bill. Managed to trim it down to $200, though; I'm not a total degenerate with my money.

Does have some EU4 stuff on sale, so there is that. But damn EU4+xpacs are still so expensive. Otherwise not much else seems worth buying (that I don't already own).

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

I got all the Dawn of War 1 games, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (I didn' know the game was even on sale), Star Wars Battlefront II (the original, not the EA one), Rise of Nations and the AoE II The Forgotten DLC. Not that very good discounts, but at least I got some old games. Hoping for some better sales on winter.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm pretty much the opposite lol, I've gone from making a decent chunk of change for a couple years to very little, so I've had to force myself to really refrain in time around - especially after the nearly $500 or so that I spent on Switch hardware and games. The $30 I spent on the 3 Steam games I wanted I think has been the only $ I've spent since then on gaming and probably the only I'll spend for some time.

Me as always. But this time, I had a few games in mind such as Tales of Berseria which is well worth it's price on steam.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

so far I got Kindergarten, Subnautica, Pit People, Sleeping Dogs, and Overcooked. Might go back for more

I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more games until fall. So I've completely avoided even looking at the sales so I don't relapse lol.

depends On the game
