Forums - Gaming Discussion - When will the PS4 peak?

PS4 peak:

2016 22 12.02%

2017 55 30.05%

2018 84 45.90%

2019 22 12.02%

Total:183

Systems have crazy sales once they hit the $199 price point.

If Sony is able to hit the $199 price point next year then expect sales to be crazy for at least 2 years.

Definitely has the potential to peak next year but it won't be easy to beat this year.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

Would be truly stunning if it peaks next year, but it's hard to beat a 20 million year. Since its already at 17.2 million by December 3rd.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

200 bucks for slim and 300-350 for pro...yes i think 20 million for sure.

I'm still thinking 2017 will be its peak year. It could do better next year, but I have a hard time seeing it.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I think it will peak in 2019. It’s selling phenomenally but a lot of gamers still don’t have one yet (marriage, family life break in gaming etc) . So sales should easily go over 100 million units.

As far as sales vs. competitors, it already has. It's no long winning every month by default and lost Black Friday in the US. This is why Sony has brought the "we can't ignore Switch" thunder. They know what we don't.

I think PS5 is probably a year or at best two away from arrival.

It lost black friday, but won November NPD and outsold Switch 2:1?

Also PS4s > Switches total worldwide sales according to quarterly reports.

Almost 2018 and Globally in the US is still a thing

The concept of World Wide Sales is not difficult, is it?

I don't see how that would be a valid metric when talking about sales peak, totally off topic
