Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What is Nintendo doing?

Yeah, the PS4 is outselling it due to stock issues, but the XBOX ONE?

Do you actually write this shit without laughing?

I doubt Nintendo themselves manufactures the Switch. At the very least, we know the shortage for Switch components is not on Nintendo's control. Also, do people think NES and SNES games are priced the same? Why are so many people complaining that SNES mini is more expensive and comes with less games, when the games are much longer, complex, and *wink* took a lot more time and money to make?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

NES CLASSIC discontinued despite selling hundreds of thousands of units..... now they announce a SNES mini with less games.... and a higher price....

nintendo can't even make the Nintendo switch .... and they are diverting resources to another system....

Making

2ds

2ds xl(new)

3ds

3ds xl

snes mini

heck they are pushing the 2dsxl and 3ds harder than the switch.....

there is virtually no promo for snes or nes games on switch..... that would push so many units, a portable snes.... with nexgen games.... there is no virtual console....

With the little parts they have to make gaming units.....

what are they doing? How is this even a good idea? The Nintendo switch is struggling... falling under ps4 and soon x one sales since it hasn't been in stock on amazon and others for over a month......

I see Switch ads quite frequently (well, as video game ads go), haven't seen a 3ds line ad in a long while.  And 3DS had no Spotlight presence at E3.  So that's objectively false.

Also, the 3DS line and Classics do not use the high capacity NAND memory and the vibration motors that have been the cause of Switch manufacturing issues so yeah, another false assumption.

And the Switch is still comfortably outselling the Xbone, which has seen sales fall off a cliff last few months.

Struggling? They cant supply them fast enough, its a smashing success.

A 10 year old could make a super nes mini with on online tutorial. They will make a quick buck and discontinue it.

The PS4 out for over 4 years is outselling the switch by a significant margin....

Yeah, you're right there. The Switch is selling so bad is only behind the PS4. The second fastest selling console of all time, in it's best year ever

I don't understand why they didn't keep the NES mini for another year and waited for christmas 2018 for SNES mini.

Nintendo is just weird. I have a friend working at the "retail department" (I don't know how to say it in english), is it distribution?

Well, he works at Nintendo in my country, and I had a lenghty discussion with him, and I still can't make sense of all their weird decisions.

And BTW, he told me that him too believes that the Switch won't replace the 3ds. It's just his personal opinion, but well you can take that as you want.

SNES Mini and 2DS XL and Switch from a hardware POV have

1.) Nothing to do with each other. They are likely are designed by different teams. Nintendo is not 10 people working in a garage.

2.) Aren't related to each in terms of hardware components used.

3.) Don't interfere with any actual software development.

Anyone who can't understand that, I hate to say it but they're idiots.

Nintendo is so desperate that the Switch will pull a Wii U because Apple bribe the manufacturer to not give a **** about Nintendo so they decide to sell another console for cheap. But In order to limiting the stock again they decide to use the same chip again so they can blame the manufacturer again. But why? Because 2 supply constrained console is better than one. Even they can went all out and say the 3ds line are supply constrained now because it's hard to create 2 screen. With 3 console are heavily supply constrained Nintendo is dominating again an MS/Sony will go bankrupt within a year.

Best plot twist ever

A handheld gamer only (for now).

This is soooo embarrassing........ why everytime I see your name on Vgchartz its always bitching about these........

Pocky Lover Boy!

Not making a Super NES Mini would be stupid. We will have a N64 Mini too.

It's an easy 3-5 million in sales at $10-$20 profit per unit for Nintendo, which basically is like having an extra big hit game for them profit wise.

After the sucess with the nes mini, it isn't a big suprise for this move...and i think they will make enough money with this system too
