Might I suggest Chrono Trigger for DS? (Playable on 3ds/2ds as well)
I'm sure it's on amazon somewhere
I didn't much care for the NES Classic because I'm not a big fan of its library.
This however, has a very strong list of games.

Including hits like Checkers, Chess, Air Hockey, Mr. Balls, and four Alex Kidd games.
The SNES classic, on the other hand, has [kanye]some of the best games of all time[/kanye].
No Chrono Trigger is a bit of a let down, but considering that Square is selling Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, FF4, and FF6 for $8, $10, $15, and $15 on iOS, I imagine that Nintendo had to kind of pick and choose here.
