Good choice.
I played a ton of overwatch but Splatoon is more enjoyable, unique, and not toxic. I did enjoy overwatch for a long time though.
Love both of them. But I think Overwatch wins imho.

Overwatch
has more variety, more than one multiplayer game mode worth playing, and runs far better than Splatoon did
hopefully Splatoon 2 runs better, and with Salmon Run has more worthwhile game modes

Splatoon is easier to pick up, maybe that's why I dove deeper into it and spent a lot of time. So yeah, Splatatatatatoon.
