Hard to say where it would be right now if supply weren't so constrained. 1.5m is a given, 2 is a possibility, and even a little higher is nice to muse about. Nintendo can definitely move another million this year if they get their act together.

I think if supply weren't an issue, Nintendo could probably sell above 5m by the end of the year in Japan.  If the 3DS could sell close to 5m with a remake of OoT, MK7, Mario 3D Land and Nintendogs leading the charge then the Switch should be able to do better with its significantly better 1st year lineup that includes Japanese system seller franchises like Splatoon and Monster Hunter.

Wii U didnt had any shortages just 2 weeks after launch.

Congratulations for first 1m, but whitout huge stocks problems, Switch would most likely sitting now aorund 1.5m instead of 1m.

They will definitely have much more stocks for Splatoon 2 launch (I hope for 150k+ for that week), but we will see how shipments will be until Splatoon 2 launch.

If even Wii U sold decently in Japan, Switch will be really huge there. Or at the very least, it will have huge shortages.

Could  or would  doesn't  change a thing  that ultimately  it didn't  happen.

Great sales can't  wait  for  the huge Japanese support  it will get after  ps4.

In the future  we will  see many ps4/switch games.
