I feel this deserved a thread.

Ps4 was never gonna sell 160m+ units so it was bound to be overtaken eventually but wow it took a long time. 
Just further context for how well it's done.

Crazy how good the PS4 is doing in general. Not just with sells but with games as well. Literally everyone stopped with the no games nonsense. It's all been made mute at this point. There's still way more games to come on top of that.

Yeah that's when the PS2 started to do the bigger numbers. People love value, even when Sony released the Gold PS4 with a 1TB HDD for $249, consumers instantly picked up on the fact it was good value with that much memory and it sold a ton. A $199 price tag should be even more obvious.

Sony have hit their stride this gen, after limping and stumbling for quite a few years.

Damn. This just shows how much Sony tried righting the wrongs of the early PS3 days.

They went back to their roots..gaming. MS has gone the other direction and they are paying for it. Even now they don't seem to be wanting to adjust still just buying exclusives and not setting up dedicated studios. Hopefully they are at least giving the studios they have more freedom to do what they want. Which has been a huge complaint from the studios they do own. Something that Sony does not do and has been great for Sony. They got The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn out of it.
