No doesn't mean that person doesn't own a Switch.  It means own a Switch but never own/owned a Wii U.    Hence the "also own/owned" part of that question.

Everyone regadless if they said yes or no at the very least owns a Switch.

Yes/No

No to this question means you don't own a Switch. English 101.

No,  again its the "also own" part you need to pay attention to.   There is no comma before "and also own/owned", so I'm asking this question with the knowledge that at the very least they own a Switch.

So option No means.

"I own a Switch, but no I don't own or have ever owned a Wii U."

If you actually read the comments here you'll see they know exactly what I'm asking.

You could simply look at sales data to determine if Switch sells to non-Wii U owners. With Switch selling at at least four times the pace of the Wii U after the launch period, it's safe to say that Switch sells beyond the Wii U userbase. Additionally, Switch is supply constrained, so it's not selling to its full potential yet.

Where are you getting 4x the pace?   Wii U sold 3 million units by the end of December 2012.    Even if that were the case it doesn't necessarily mean the majority of people buying the Switch never own/owned a Wii U.  Now don't get me wrong it probably has more interest than the Wii U did to people outside the hardcore fan base, but there isn't enough data to show how much of an impact its had on the more mainstream market.

Look at the title of the thread.  I specifically made it clear that I'm targeting Switch owners.

I sold my Wii U to buy a Switch, so yes.

But you didn't give an opportunity to non-switch owners to see the results at least. (We all want to see the results of polls).  That fact alone will bias your answers as they'll pick whatever they want just to see results.  The key to designing a good poll is to consider all the options and to isolate people.  Either way your results aren't going to be conclusive, but you'll at least allow those who want to play fair to have a place to play their piece.  This seems like your first poll and in time you'll understand the nuances. There's never a perfect poll, and self surveys are some of the most unreliable of all statistics, but you'll at least steer your data into more accurate directions with options for everyone.

I got both systems~

From sell-through data.

Your 3m figure is shipped. If you stick with shipment data and add the following quarter for Wii U, you get a total of only 3.45m, meaning that the console didn't even ship 0.5m in the three months after its launch period. That averages to shipments of roughly 30k units per week. For comparison, Switch sells through this amount in Japan alone, so the updated shipment figures we'll get in July should eclipse 2m units worldwide for the April to June quarter. We can expect roughly 5m LTD for Switch, so ~1.5m ahead of the Wii U's 3.45m in a comparable timeframe.

Looking ahead to the following quarter for both systems, Wii U remains dead in the water due to no noteworthy releases in April to June 2013. On the other hand, Switch starts off its corresponding July to September quarter with Splatoon 2 on top of the strong momentum it already has. So while Wii U won't get to 4m LTD through its first three financial quarters, Switch should be closing in on 7.5-8m, growing the gap in shipments from ~1.5m to ~4m.

This trend will keep going, so one year from now Switch will have already sold more units than Wii U did in its entire lifetime. The only conclusion that can be drawn from this is that Switch is selling well beyond the Wii U userbase.

Not saying you are wrong, but where can I find sold though numbers?
