What if we colonized Mars, and then the first Mars colonists revolted against the Earthlings? We could have our first interplanetary war!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Maybe we should focus on stop fucking over this planet before we put our sights on fucking over another. There is no where else other than this Earth we live on right now we can go.

And living in captivity in Mars is no place or way for a human to live.

Idk I agree with Tyson. Then again I love Tyson so maybe I'm bias. Always watch Star Talk

Evacuate? To where? There is nowhere else to go, within a reachable distance. Venus is uninhabitable, and Mars is very high-maintenance, even if we had the technology to terraform things like in the movies. Besides, Mars is only about a quarter of the Earth's size. So outside the solar system then? Too bad it'll take thousands of years to get anywhere. I love sci-fi, astronomy and technology and dreaming about the stars, but space travel and interstellar colonization is a pipe dream. If at all physically possible in the first place, the human race will never achieve that. No, we're going to have to make it here I'm afraid.

Why people wanna evacuate this planet to live in a shittier planet is beyond my intelligence. Terraforming is science fiction.

And pursuing science fiction makes our everyday lives better.

NO!  I want things to stay the same!  Or hell go back to the 50s.  Advancement is scary and I wanna teach my kids "old school" and "respect the old ways."  After all what's better than saying "back in my day" or "things used to better when I was younger" or other future or present hating attitudes?

You know what else was once science fiction? Weapons that could wipe out Islands.

Tell me how in anyway living on Mars is any better than living on Earth even if does reach it's worst possible state. Is the air breathable on Mars? No. Is temperature for the most part survivable on Mars? No. Is there million trillions of gallons of water in any form on Mars? No.

All the problems there are to live on Mars right now are more challenging than all the problems that will ever be, to live on Earth.

well hopefully we would develop the tech and start adapting the planet long before we actually NEEDED to.  This is not a time for procrastination.

Won't happen ever. The guy is a bit..strange.

I don't see the point in colonizing other bodies in space when we can't even keep the Earth in decent condition

My point is the Earth can't get any worse than what Mars is.

And because of this no ones mindsets shouldn't be thinking that it's in anyway acceptable if this planet gets messed up, because we have other options. No one should be thinking we need to evacuate, because that's the thinking that will be causing the need to evacuate in the first place.

Instead of wasting vast amounts of money in trying to inhabit or even reach Mars, that money should be invested into preseving and improving the only planet that actually matters; Earth.
