Forums - Nintendo Discussion - SEGA Forever could be a possibility on Switch

So is this a subscription service, or can you just buy the games? I'd be down with that. Whatever Sega games I enjoyed but don't have yet, I'd buy them.

So, the games are apparently free? How do they make a profit on it? Will there be ads? Or will you have a limited amount of playtime?

There are ads, $1.99 to remove them.

If that's for all the ads and not just the ads per game, then this is a very fair price, actually

Maybe sega will finally port shining force 3 to something...🤞

Shining Force 3 was on the Sega Genesis collection that is on 360 and PS3

I was just going to say I hope Shining Force makes it on here so I can finish the 1st game and play the sequels

Weird... how did a Saturn game end up in a genesis collection...😜

Lol, but for real, unfortunately the collection only had 1 and 2. Shining force 3 (which is actually three games but the us only got the first one) has never been ported to anything.  Even though it is one of the best games of all time... shining force cd never really got ported either unless you count the extremely downgraded and split up game gear games.

I would love love to see some of these classics ported, not just to phones but to consoles.  Especially since sega doesn't seem to have any interest in making new shining force games, or at least not new srpg shining force games.  Sega seems to have an issue with their strategy games, they keep trying to take out the strategy (looking at you Valkyria😒).

I'm over here waiting for a Dreamcast collection on current gen.

Almost certain will come to switch, switch arquiteture is very similar to mobile, porting to switch should be piece of cake.

So looks to be on all platforms, sounds good

Oh my god. Sorry. I am so stupid ;_; I thought it was on the Genesis collection.

I don't think Nintendo would let them put adware on the switch.  Sega would have to change the entire model to put it on the switch, so I wouldn't say almost certain.

however, I'm sure you could say with some certainty that sega will release some kind of classic collection on the switch (and other consoles). They do almost every generation.

Unless Nintendo's OS is compatible with the programs that allow ads to be run on iOS (used to be iAds forgot the system they use now), or Android (Admob). Nintendo would need to release an update to allow ads to run, or it would end up just being a modified program of SEGA Forever that has the user pay the $1.99 upfront cost with no 'free' version and the program will have no ads.
