Not really surprised that it's at 720p. As long as they make it a solid 60fps, I will be happy in handheld mode.

its 720p when docked.

In handheld mode it will probably be like 540p.

Don't believe that for a second, if anything it will be 900p when docked and 720p handheld

For precisely timed jumps you probably want the fps.

Not surprised at 720p. I could see the resolution from the E3 demos.
Not an issue though since the game looks great anyway. I'm curious on portable mode though.

Imo, a platformer feels much better at 60fps.

Basically, I have hard time believe Nintendo would run own game below native resolution, so 720p for handheld, and if is 720p handheld there is no reason why we can't have at least 900p for docked mode.

I expecting res bump for docked mode at least 900p for launch, we already saw same thing for ARMS and Splatoon2.

It seems like Nintendo is working first on handheld mode and later just bump resolution for docked mode.

Drops to 57? Literally unplayable

Keep in mind that Minecraft is both 720p docked and undocked so it's not odd to have a game run at that resolution in either mode depending on where the issues are happening.

If you watch the digital foundry video as well, all of the issues with framerate they said were based on asset streaming, the speed of the memory doesn't change with the clock change from docked/undocked so the streaming issue will be the same for both modes, meaning it could well be 720p in both modes since the GPU isn't the thing which is kicking up and causing the dips in the footage we're looking at here.
