So we're closing in on the end of the year. There's a few albums left to come I'm sure (the new Morbid Angel is the big one for me), but just wondering what our resident metal fan(s) rank as their best/favourites of 2017?

Unfortunately I haven't listened to many new albums, I do remember Suffocation and Immolation's new works though so I guess those would win by default.

You're missing out on some cracking albums. Some great ones (off the top of my head)

Kreator - Gods of Violence (favourite of the year as far as metal goes)
Avatarium - Hurricanes and Halos
Battle Beast - Bringer of Pain
Sepultura - Machine Messiah
Crystal Viper - Queen of the Witches
Edguy - Monuments (only five new songs but they're all amazing)
Dagoba - Black Nova
Akercocke - Renaissance in Extremis

The only new metal albums I listened to this year are Hydrograd by Stone Sour and Ritual by In This Moment. Both were decent.

If you're wondering why there was no album of the week, it's because the video that I was going to use was removed from YouTube. Sorry guys, but you'll have to find Acid Bath elsewhere again!

My favorite for 2017 was No Grave But the Sea by Alestorm.

Has a good mix of humor and metal.

Some nice stoner metal, a classic!!

I've been listening to Tool lately. For some reason they're not on Spotify, but luckily all their stuff is on Youtube.

They are against digital releases of their albums I believe.

But they don't have a problem with Youtube?
