Anyone remember Dethklok? The good old days of staying up late and watching Metalocalypse and Home Movies. Don't really listen to it anymore but Brendon Small just came out with a new album Galaktikon II: Become The Storm.

Here's a sample.

Oh man, so bad this show got cancelled. It was freaking brutal, in the whole sense of the word. xD

I still remember the band having to record on water because the music needed to sound even more brutal or something.

Great that you mentioned the release of that album because I had no idea it even existed! :D

Arguably one of the best heavy metal songs ever

Who cares if it's basic bitch

Megadeth rules! Sporting a Megadeth shirt right now actually.. When it comes to Metallica vs Megadeth, I'll always prefer Metallica as a BAND, but Mustaine as an individual GUITARIST is just a freaking beast. He's lived one fascinating life as illustrated in his book, and he's probably the best guitar player I've ever heard for my money outside maybe Hendrix. Dude just shreds. Rust in Peace was their peak IMO between him and similarly awesome Marty Friedman. That album manages to be so complex musically but still somewhat catchy, and the energy is just at another level.

Anybody listened to the new Akercocke album yet? It's seriously good.

I haven't listened to any Akercocke at all, unfortunately.

There's a full album stream here. It's on Spotify as well (here in the UK at least). Definitely worth a go.

Almost at the bottom of the playlist though, long way to go. :(

Album of the week: Crowbar - Odd Fellows Rest (1998)

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mBAblTLk3k

Well, I said I'd put a sludge metal album for album of the week, and I've been listening to the shit out of this one!! Just some pure, heavy, sludge. It has a nice sense of atmosphere, and it rocks out. Now, as for my favourite tracks, I really like Planets Collide, December's Spawn, It's All in the Gravity and Behind the Black Horizon. AngryLittleAlchemist, if you haven't already listened to this, you need to!!

That moment when Alice in Chains is much more metal than Grunge but no one thinks any group that's mainstream is metal unless their name starts with an M

:L

Some good 'ol Mayhem!!

Well, Cannibal Corpse are definitely the most popular death metal band, and I've been listening to them the past few days!! Here's a song that I was pretty fond of, especially the groovy part that's at around 1:55 into the video. That intro is pretty ineresting to, to say the least!
