Lol why? It will eventually reach that number, I'm sure of it. Unlike FF13, they're actually still supporting the game and also, unlike 13, it is a much more accepted entry to the series.

Lol, support. FFXIII got 2 fully fledged sequels, FFXV gets a bit of DLC and micro transactions.

The comparison is with FF13 alone and not the sequels. lol

This makes sense yet MH4U didnt use this logic. Actually in the west its the best selling MH.

I think this whole thing is a mess. If a switch game does come and they name it MH5 then what?

World is refresh for the series. The next time we see a number it will be Monster Hunter World 2.

Meanwhile millions of gamers new to the series bought Final Fantasy 15. lol

What millions are you talking about? FFXV sold even less than FFXIII.

Uhhh... It sold 5.5M.

it's still selling, it will most likely catch it eventually

They should have kep the "5" imo.

It ll look better though if the next game is called Monster Hunter World 2.

I'm calling now that the rumoured Switch game of which I just now saw a thread here will be called '5' regardless.

Meanwhile the Final Fantasy episode that exploded in the west (well, not only there, but you get the idea) was number 7 and nobody asked "where's the six other ones (or 3 in North america)?"

Then they will pretend like World was a 'less important mainline title' (like Generations) and MH5 is the next 'real mainline title'.

It won't be too difficult for them to act like this interview never happened, or to find a lame excuse for it.

This doesn't mean much, but I know I did. I never played it even though it was the biggest thing back in the day because I wanted to play the first 6 first. That never actually happened but I did play 4 and then 13 and 15.

So... that means the next mainline Monster Hunter game isn't coming to the Switch? That's surprising.

There's a B team for MH and they'll be working on a title.  It will probably release holiday 2018 and be on Switch.  It'll be a mainline portable entry for sure and will sell great in Japan.

With MHW next spring and a potential MH portable next holiday capcom could be onto a big winner here.
