When Pokémon or Metroid hit switch is the day I will pick the console up I am super excited its been to long since we have had a good Metroid game

Have seen some reactions in regards to this announcement, and it annoys me as much as many Smash announcements.

I swear half the people have never played the series they are so hyped about. So many reactions of people that don't even start screaming until they see the actual words Metroid Prime 4. It was clear as day it was a Metroid game as soon as you could make out the space S. Then you had the Prime mucic cut in and at that point any fan should know which Metroid it would be. Then the 4 was like a beating a dead horse at that point as to it being prime 4. Yet many don't react until the words pop up.

Same as in smash. Many people freaked out with each new reveal, even many times admitting they never played said game, or constantly going along with their screams, "who is this"

I didn't notice the S until later. But the music came on around the same time so meh. Guess I'm not a real fan.

I'm glad for those fans, but it kinda is bittersweet for Nintendo because as a whole, the franchise is really not that popular. It will sell maybe a million copies WW on Switch, but some C-tier Mario spin-off would likely do about the same or more. It would be great if the general game community were half as passionate about Metroid as these guys are.

I'm not saying a real fan can't not notice some of these things. Just saying for someone to react as they do in reaction videos, they SHOULD notice these things.

I mean these are people that are watching a reveal and looking at the smallest details to try and guess what is being shown, yet you hear stuff like "oh is this odyssey, or pikman 4, fire emblem, or what is this, ect" Then they react like the kid just came back from being deployed when it shows Metroid. It just comes off a hugely fake, imo.

Maybe they don't want to get too exited before they're absolutely certain. Also, it takes a few seconds to let this sink in.
