next cod4 will be released for the wii, and will have better graphics.

Wii is barely weaker than the PS3, and about almost as powerful as the 360, the 360 is only 1.5 times more powerful than the wii.

Now that what you guys feel has been said, HALF LIFE 2 CANNOT RUN ON THE WII.

Could you please elaborate on the bolded part? I really want to read your insights on why Half-Life 2, a game with very scalable 4 years old engine that appeared on the Xbox 1, can't run on the Wii...

And I signed the petition, right after Grey Acumen.

If I were having a conversation about crysis on ps3, you would quickly laugh, now you believe HL2 can run on the wii?

First of the XBOX version looked like $hit compared to the pc version, its like comparing halo 2 with halo 3 on the 360.

Second of, the wii is barely more powerful than the original Xbox, with that said you think it can run it with ease if the original xbox could not run the HL2 game at full?

Good argument, comparing the game with the best graphics EVER, to a game that didn't shine for it's technical aspects even when it was released back then? Also, how is that " Crysis: medium-low detail/30fps/720p on PS3" applies as laughing? Do you realize that even on those setting it looks better than any other game on the market, on any platform? Have you even played it? Thought so.

Also, this is new to me. You know about hardware now? How is that the Wii, with more, faster memory, much more powerful processor and faster GPU is barely more powerful than the Celeron-powered Xbox? Ever heard of optimization?

Leo-J, do a little homework before posting please, it will spare us all some greif.

No you get your head out of your fanboy world, and tell yourself the wii cannot run PS360 games.

Half-Life 2 isn't a PS360 game, it's a 4 year old PC game that runs extremely well on a Pentium 4 with a Geforce 2 and 256MB RAM. Wii can easily run it. Not at the same resolution as the PS360 obviously, but it can still easily run it. End of discussion.

The wii can run the game at XBOX settings, but not at its Current ORANGE BOX graphics.

*sigh I guess you're just too young to make valid points regarding this issue.

There IS NO Orange Box graphics. Orange Box for PS360 is a PORT from the PC version. The PC has no preprogrammed graphics, they are SCALABLE. You know, you can change the resolution, shaders, shadow detail, everything. Half-Life 2 on Orange Box looks exactly the same as Half-Life 2 four years ago.

The PS360 version can't run on the Wii obviously, but since The Orange Box is a PC game, with scalable graphics, it can easily run on the Wii. and yes, it would be around Xbox level (a little prettier with better performance probably with some effort).

You understand now?

well i signed it but we're still not getting the game

Are you completely oblivious to the existance of Half-Life 2 on the ORIGINAL Xbox?

Half-Life 2 could easily be done on Wii. Portal and Team Fortress 2 as well.

Half-Life 2 Episodes not so sure.

He's oblivious to a lot of things... you've been on the fourms for a while... you should know this.

Leo J there is no such thing as "Orange Box" graphics. The difference is that PS3 would struggle to run Crysis at it's lowest settings. The Orange Box itself can be scaled to what could run on a wii if you have the PC version.  You just go under "settings" and lower things.

The only thing is the wii hasn't definitly shown it can sell FPS so a smaller company like Valve doesn't seem to want to put a dev team on controls.

I really doubt it would happen, although aiming with the wiimote wouldn't be nearly as painful as aiming with analog sticks. Maybe they could get it to run, but it would probably look something like running the PC version with everything in DX8 mode with minimum settings across the board.

I guess it would be nice if it happened, but the PC version is so good I probably wouldn't consider buying it for anything else.

Glad to see fanboy Leo-j is back, although I may be a little late in saying this.

Nothing wrong with trying.

that is true for HL2 and the Wii MIGHT be able to run Episode 1 but there is no way in hell it can run episode 2, TF2, Portal.  The source engine had a minor upgrade that didnt effect hardware requirements between HL2 and EP1 and a massive upgrade between EP1 and Ep2.

HL2 PC specs:

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

HL2: Lost Coast:

Minimum: Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD 2800+ Processor, 1GB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

EP1:

Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

EP2/Portal/TF2:

Minimum: 1.7 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX® 8 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

Recommended: Pentium 4 processor (3.0GHz, or better), 1GB RAM, DirectX® 9 level Graphics Card, Windows® Vista/XP/2000, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

looking at this HL2 is possible on the Wii, Ep2 is not.

btw The Orange Box has a different SDK base then previous HL2 games too so I wil side with Leo and say there are "Orange Box Graphics" per se.

Without even looking at the requirements, can we honestly expect Wii owners to buy the game?
