HDZ strongest regiin by far is UK. (Overall conparison to other markets)

People arguing botw vs hdz, we literally just got numbers for both for end of april.

@jrpgfan. Weird you keep saying past week or 2 but yet exclude all of may and fw of june.

Both games should hit 5mil by end of quarter. BotW is already on its way toward 10mil+ WW. HDZ will easily get 7mil+ with the ceiling unknown atm.

Being full price for a sony game after 3months+ is really good though, legs will keep ongoing for both

I think the new DLC really helps.

Holy fucking shit Horizon Zero Dawn #1!!! And that's with arms releasing. So it's numbers must be big if it beat it.

Yeah the dlc will help it's legs plus the fact that Playstation games after a few months regularly get good price promotions both digital and retail especially around Christmas.

If Sony make HZD it's main holiday bundle this holiday that should be enough to ensure it hits 10m+ lifetime.

    AFTER

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

???? but why? Last 2 weeks its been behinde in sales.

In the UK,  Horizon is #1 and Zelda is #22.

In the US, horizon is #6 and zelda is #17.

Also Horizon did like 3.4m in 2months of sales (end of april).

Now its June, and it appears to be selling more in EU,NA ect.

I think Horizon has a good chance to make 5m before zelda does.

Because U.K. Doesn't really matter when worldwide Zelda has been outselling it 3:1 every week? Zelda is already over 5m. It did 3.7m first month. And if we decide to use VGC numbers, Zelda is about 1m ahead of Horizon and constantly outsells it by 3:1 like I said.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Horizon: Zero Dawn sold through 2.6 million in its first two weeks. Zelda BOTW for the Switch sold in (shipped + digital) 2.76 million copies in its first month. Obviously, Zelda BOTW has been held back by the installbase, so maybe Zelda would reach 5 million faster than Horizon if it had the same installbase to sell to, but that's just a hypothetical scenario.

Though I don't expect Sony to announce 5 million for HZD anyway, so we may never know.

Well, I don't wanna pick a fight, but looking at the numbers than europe is the only region where Horizon beats Zelda (Switch). If we combine both versions of Zelda, it is long past Horizon, but looking at Switch-version alone it managed to get 2.76M at May 13th (VGC), while Horizon has 2.84M. And that week Zelda sold 70K more than Horizon. So we can assume that by now Zelda Switch has overtaken Horizon worldwide. In europe on the other hand that will probably never happen, Horizon will keep staying in front.

I'm looking at officially announced sales, not VGC numbers. Like I said, in that case, Horizon had sold through (so sold to consumers) 2.6 million in its first two weeks. Doesn't really matter then that VGC's numbers didn't show 2.6 million before an extra week after that, because either VGC is undertracking the game, or digital sales are high. VGC numbers just don't cut it for proper sales discussion, and I'm not saying this to be rude.¨

EDIT: actually the latest confirmed number we have from Sony for Horizon Zero Dawn is 3.4 million, with 915k of that being digital according to Sony themselves. Some of the sources say this number is for april, but some don't specify, so I'm not sure when this is for, but either way it shows VGC numbers aren't good enough, because digital sales are so substantial.

You're aware, that NPD just put Zelda Year to Date in the US above Horizon, with Horizon including digital and Zelda not?

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

Why is it that no one can mention HZD without BoTW being brought up? How can someone asking when HZD will pass 5 million be turned into a comparison between it and BoTW? Was there a point in bringing it into the conversation?

Anyway OT:

Nice sales for Horizon! The UK really shows that game love and Europe in general. GTAV just will never die. I wonder how well ARMS did. Tekken 7 still hanging around the top!

NPD is US only, this is worldwide sales, and those numbers are for Switch and Wii U combined. In which case I too think BOTW will win.

Either way, I'm not saying I'm sure HZD will reach 5 million before BOTW, I just don't think it'll be easy pickings (for the Switch version alone), like gentii was implying. But eh, if Gentii meant Wii U + Switch sales, then sure, but he linked to the Switch version.

The weekly Global software chartz on VGZ are obviously wrong.
