Forums - Sony Discussion - Shawn Layden - announced 2018 games coming first half of the year

Last guardian is a good, but only example. Final Fantasy VII is Square Enix game, Shenmue 3 was not announced, they announced a Kickstarter, and it's also not a Sony game. Death Stranding is Sony game so good there, but in any case FFVII and Shenmue 3 were announced at the same time as Sea of thieves and a year after Crackdown, Scalebound, Phantom Dust, Cuphead, etc. While Death Stranding was announced just last year and according to Shawn Layden is in playable form and he has played some of it. Shenmue 3 director also said that the game will be out next year (much like Sea of thieves), the only game here that's a legitimate concern in FFVII because it's SE.

Your criticism is based on nothing but speculation, the facts show that Sony games come out in a very acceptable timeframe after being announced, atleast compared to MS barring The Lasy guardian (which you gotta admit is a blunder from last gen, and is in no way indictive of how Sony's managing their projects these days). MS on the other hand has had 4 cancelled games and just as many that have taken 3+ years to release and all of that has happened THIS GENERATION, it's the CURRENT management of MS that has an issue, yet here you are bitching about the one time Sony fucked up last gen with TLG. Think about it.

Those aren't Sony games but Sony is the one that decided to show the games. Imo it would have been better for them to wait closer to the launch and show the games.

Shenmue 3 was a kickstarter announcement, you can't wait to announce that closer to release since it can't start development until they get the funding.

Death Stranding is also a special case where Sony just wanted to celebrate the fact that they have Kojima working for them now.

FFVII is a SE game and they show games years out all the time now, it's basically their defining characteristc, what's Sony gonna say? we won't put up a trailer of your game that everyone's been begging for up on the screen?

And all of that is still ignoring the fact that these games haven't been announced as long as several MS games that have yet to release, games MS is actually publishing and owns the rights to. The whole point of the argument is about you singling out Sony for something they're better at than others in the industry. Your criticism makes NO SENSE. Just apologise and step out of the thread, you're only making a bigger fool of yourself the more you post because facts are in direct opposition with your stance.

Ok fair enough.

Lol that doesnt matter. We already knew that Kojima was working on a game with Sony and i would have liked it better if it were announced closer to release.

Yes they should have said well will show your game closer to release. They have marketing since its a timed exclusive they should have the right to tell them to wait. I bet if the game was shown a year before its coming out there would be wya more hyped.

No compared to Microsoft Sony has shown more games that havent releassed yet.

We are the ones at fault? Sure sure, you done all you could to try and spin your way without success.

FF VII and Shenmue 3 is totally out of Sony control, it isn't their IP and Death Stranding was revealed with they being very direct saying it was the concept since they just started the game, so they were very clear it was a reveal that would be ways before releasing.

I get that those aren't Sony made games but they must have an idea how far the games are in development.

I would like it better if they waited to show these games but that's just me. If other people like games being announced early more power to ya.

How many times have you changed your point just to not accept being wrong?

Oh yea?  Let's look at MS's E3s.

2013:  Below - Cancelled
            Halo 5 - Released in 2015
Quantum Break - Released in 2016

2014: Below - Cancelled
           Crackdown 3 - Releasing in 2017
           Fable Legends - Cancelled
           Inside - Released in 2016
Phantom Dust - Released in 2017
Quantum Break - Released in 2016
           Scalebound - Cancelled

2015: Ashen - TBD (Most likely cancelled)
           Below - Cancelled
           Cuphead - Releasing in 2017
           Fable Legends - Cancelled
Gigantic - TBD (Most likely cancelled)
Sea of Thieves - Releases in 2018

2016: Scalebound - Cancelled
Sea of Thieves - Releases in 2018
Edit: Forgot State of Decay 2 - Releases in 2018

So, yea.  Care to say that, again?  And I'm sure I could do the same for Nintendo.  Really if anyone is trying to attribute this solely to Sony, they should be reported for trolling and moderated for it.

Thanks for posting this. We must not let alternative facts or fake news recreate the past and present.

Good to hear that. Detroit, Days gone, god of war and spiderman are all day 1 purchases for me and i hope they are not all first half because i'll be buying too many games in 6 months (also buying third party titles). Hopefully spiderman releases around October.

Never changed my point. Originally i said i did not like how Sony showed games early. If a third party game like FF7R is shown at Sonys E3 they are showing the game early.

Again, having more unreleased games doesn't mean they were announced too early. Sony simply makes more games so they will naturally have more released and unreleased games than MS at any given moment in time.

If Sony announces 10 games and releases them in two years, while MS annouces 5 games and releases them in 3 years, it's still MS that announced games too early not Sony. the fact that Sony had 10 games that were yet to release for the those two years compared to MS is completely irrelavnt. Seriously how old are? I can't believe how much I'm having to dumb this down for you to get it, for your sake i hope you're a little kid.

Yes, you changed when challenged with data.

If Sony announces More games, Releases more games, releases faster on average, but have more games unreleased (BECAUSE IT HAVE MORE GAMES MADE) and you focus only on more unreleased them you are spining to fit your narrative.

You're very welcome.  As I pointed out in a more recent post, there are a few things I need to change, like Below wasn't technically officially cancelled.  Think I'll do that, now, so I can save this post for future use.

It's funny that you didn't put the Forza games in this list because they get release the same year they get announced so I guess what Jason said is justified, oh also Gears of War 4 was announced in 2015 was was released the following year but what's interesting about its release date is that it was push FORWARD for an October release from its holiday release schedule which was really rare since it was common to see a games release date gets push back. So if anyone should be mod/report for trolling it shouldn't be him, it should be people certain people who doesn't like MS/Xbox.
