Those saying its too expensive, well unfortunately you pay for quality and this machine is all about quality.

If AMDs new tech is available by 2019 and is very expensive I see the new generation for Sony starting 2020 with a $500 maybe even $600 if they want to take a big loss or not.
The price may be justified. But to the customer it still looks bad in comparison to the PS4 Pro.
Microsoft couldn't also sell the Xbox for more than the PS2 despite it having vastly superior hardware. The hardware itself doesn't matter so much in the eyes of the normal customer.

When I'm thinking of buying a console though, I don't base its price from its power, I base its price compared to the price of other consoles. So, I see its price, and then I see the price of other consoles, and it's just too expensive!

The box isnt aimed for the casual gamer. Its advertised as a Premium product which in that case there is a market out there that consider it a bargain. Like myself.
I don't think there's a lot of people complaining about value. I think people are complaining about the price. You can have both excellent value and an expensive price at the same time. $499 is expensive for a console, no matter what it has to offer. In this case, you just happen to get pretty good value for your money if you're willing to pay that much.
4k Blu-ray drive +15-16 $ more.
4gb extra GDDR5 + ~30-35$ more.
360mm^2 die size of new chip (probably) + ~50$ more
Vaporchamber instead of heatpipes + ~20$ more?
New cooler system +$ ?
bigger PSU +$ ?
I can understand why its 100$ more than the PS4pro.
I dont think it being 499$ is because MS is greedy and pocketing money on it, I honestly think their probably lossing a small amount on each unit.
Still Once the PS4pro gets a 50$ price cut, that 150$ differnce between the 2 systems is going to be a hard pill to swallow.
I think only die hard xbox fans buy the system.

By then 7nm will be out, and they ll be able to make a 10-12TF system for 399$.
4k60 will be the standard by then.
