Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's the most important gameshow in the world?

I think E3 isn't that important anymore (if it ever was the most important one), but what do you guys think?

I'll add a poll later on if there are enough people willing to vote, but first we should make a list of all the gameconventions that are big so we can make one good poll.

If you can find any numbers, please add them below with a source please.

E3 (US), Gamescom (Germany), Tokyo Gameshow (Japan), Paris Games Week (France), PAX (US & Australia), Igro Mir (Russia), ChinaJoy (China), Brasil Game Show (Brasil).

A few of them are just big if you look at attendees only.

It was always Gamescom.

I'm thinking the same.

It's E3, still. Gamescom would be second.

hmm, I dunno. I think TGS is still easily more important than Gamescom.

I wish. I am struggling to remember anything cool  big from a recent TGS.

But mostly important to Japan/Asia, Gamescom is more focussed on the West/World.

Since most of the big publisher are from Japan and US I would say E3 and TGS are the biggest one.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

E3. Though it does seem to be getting smaller and smaller every year while gamescom grows.

Always? How has it ever been Gamescom?

E3 is where the big games get announced or shown off for the first time. E3 is where new hardware is properly revealed for the first time. And so on and so forth. Until another show starts being the first place big games and hardware is shown off I don't think they can really claim to have the same, let alone more, importance than E3.

I'd have to check where all the consoles and hardware got announced or shown at the first time.

e3 is more important. Gamescom is like the continuation where developers are going to show you more of the same.
