But PD never dissapointed me before...
Well, yeah, that sucks, it means PSVR is pretty much dead to me this gen, unless AC7 is really freaking amazing on VR. But that's more on PSVR than on PD, Sony choose to make a good but decently priced device as their first step on VR, but that means it can't run all PS4 games as they are, so it's not PD fault, Sony focus for VR was different than PD focus on high end software.

That game taking so freaking long is the only problem, back in 2014 he said they could have GT7 as soon as next year but they choose to focus on an online competitive focused game instead, then try to adapt VR on it, and we still don't have a PS4 GT yet.

They kinda did with GT6 by first scrapping the long endurance races and track editor (I think they added that back later?). Yet moreso by promising monthly track DLC that never came. (Only 2 or 3 tracks with one a ridiculously long straight test track loop)

But yeah, I'm hoping its because of time constraints, Sony shouting: launch the freaking game already. They really need to hire some more people.

Well, as long as the VR experience is good I'm fine with only one on one... but how will campaign mode work?

That's what I'm concerned about. All 177 cars might be driveable in VR, but if you're stuck with a small selection in arcade mode then what's the point. Afaik you don't make money in arcade mode, thus can't buy cars. Perhaps all cars are unlocked in arcade mode this time.
VR campaign is definitely out with only 2 cars on track, maybe the license tests will work?

I was all hyped for the PSVR when it was announced and launched and expected to get one quite quickly as I love VR but still there isn't the games I want to play on it. It's good to see it getting reasonable sales and VR is definitely the future for sure its just the hardware is not quite up to the task as can be seen by the limitation in GT VR. It seems to be compatibility with the original PS4 is holding VR back as most developers aren't really doing much in the way of enhancement for ps4 pro and it would certainly be better if the ps4 pro was the baseline.

This. Sony should of took a leaf out of MS book here and made PSVR only work with PS4Pro systems, its clear for everyone to see the PS4Pro was made for the PSVR. Anyway as long as PS4 is the base model never expect massive great looking games on PSVR its just impossible as the hardware is not there for it.

Nah, ps4 can do it, RE7 proves that. If ps4 pro was made for VR it would have a better cpu to support higher framerates. At least it supports multi resolution rendering to spend more resources on details that can be seen.

RE7 on base ps4 renders at a lower res and halfs the resolution again outside about 70 fov. There's a low res rectangle when you look towards the edges. GT Sport can do the same and use much lower low models on base ps4. I assume they still have them for rendering distant cars. I would be happy with GT5 visuals in VR. PS4 should have no problem with that.

for 20 years the series have been great without VR and now they can't get VR right and we want to fault them? Buying that shit day 1, i could give 2 shits about GT and VR.

GT has always been on the forefront tech wise. Multi screen support has been a staple of the series while the number of people using that dwarfs in comparison to 1 million psvr headsets sold. GT5 was demonstrated running in 4K using 4 linked ps4s. GT5 had a 3D mode for the whole game. Now with VR we're getting a small taster. Less tracks, less cars, less disciplines, less cutting edge, still the same long dev time, what happened to GT.

my prediction - psvr will be forgotten just like PS Move was.

Except games supporting PS Move are still coming out.

Well considering all GTs have supported it and that Driveclub VR also supports my Thrustmaster I don't see why GTS wouldn't.

Good. In this case, and for all driving games with optional VR, not just GT, my doubt is that VR immersion will be somehow ruined by lack of correct feedback of your hands position on wheel and gear lever, unless an advanced VR set with full body or at least also hands and not just head tracking is used.

that will be a hard thing, but they can always guess hand position based on the turn you are making and how much you turned the whell.

I really hope they haven't screwed the VR mode and made it arcade 1x1 only.

Sooooo... the conclusion is that it's still being supported? And I believe mods have asked to stop the listwar here.

You don't look at your hands while driving in real life, it's the same in VR. You concentrate on what's happening out the windows and only occasionally glance down at the dashboard. The steering wheel is in your peripheral vision, you're not paying attention to it. It's not in your face as it is while driving in car on a screen. So, it's not a big issue. It would be cool if it matches 1:1, but that means adjusting your steering wheel and gear lever setup for each car.

I enjoy my racing comfortably reclined, feet up, with a controller. VR gives me enough extra immersion not to bother with a steering wheel.
