Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft’s Xbox One X console commands the most social buzz at E3

Microsoft and its Xbox One X game console have generated the most conversations at the game industry’s biggest trade show in the U.S.

The buzz around the new system has propelled Microsoft into the number one spot with 26.04 percent of online mentions around E3, edging out the excitement around Nintendo’s big announcements (22.99 percent). Here are the top 5 most discussed video game companies (and attached please find a graphic with the full list):

– Microsoft (26.04 percent of all online mentions)
– Nintendo (22.99 percent)
– EA (21.85 percent)
– Activision (9.64 percent)
– Ubisoft (7.25 percent)

Sony didn’t drive nearly as much buzz as the top five, with a share of voice of only 6.17 percent. The maker of the PlayStation 4 game console has sold more than 60 million PS4s, but it came in seventh with a social reputation score of 54.88.

Sony’s buzz came from the following topics:
– Playstation VR (27.84 percent of all Sony mentions)
– God of War (23.49 percent)
– Crash Bandicoot (14.95 percent)
– Detroit: Become Human (7.09 percent)
– Death Stranding (6.68 percent)
– The Last of Us 2 (6.52 percent)
– Uncharted 4 (5.14 percent)
– Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (4.65 percent)
– Spider-Man (3.64 percent)
I must say congratz to Phil and the entire Xbox team on the E3 conference and the Xbox One X. It looks to be an amazing console that will finally give console gamers a PC like experience.

Wow,

I thought Spider-Man would get more hype.

Sea Of Thieves is one of the most anticpated games period. It beat every Playstation game and it was not even close. Even beat Destiny 2.

I thought Rare was dead?

Most Popular Games Based On Social Reputation Score:

That buzz doesnt translate to sales numbers tho. Last year Horizon was at the near bottom, then went on to sell 3.4M

It does. Spiderman is the second most viewed E3 video so far with 7M views, just behind Mario Odyssey with 7.2M views

And some people still think Sony "won" E3.

Spider-Man is a game that people are not talking about. Watching  a video means nothing if you walk away from that video with nothing to say.  People are supposed to watch the video and then talk about how cool the game is and they cant wait to play it. People are not doing that.

Did you? I thought that was one of the least appealing games I saw at the conference period, and we're talking about a conference that had some shitty VR Final Fantasy fishing shit LOL. Too much a Batman ripoff it seemed to me.

Surprised God of War isn't #1 for Sony. It looked great. Probably the only thing in their conference that did imho.
