Forums - Movies & TV - Power Rangers 2017... wow, wow, WOW!

What a terrible movie. Who thought it would be a good idea to take a fun, colourful show and make it a dull, drab, joyless affair. Here are the characters:

- Jason, the leader, is literally a criminal evading police after being placed on house arrest because he caused an accident.

- Trini, the yellow one, doesn't speak to her family because they are too "normal. Hard to sympathise with such an ungrateful character.

- Zack, black ranger, has a nice back story but acts like a senseless idiot the whole movie.

- Billy, blue ranger, nothing wrong with him but his autism made him a bit annoying.

- Kimberley, pink ranger, she says it herself - she is mean and sent a nude pic of her friend to someone or something similar.

On top of that they morph in the last 20 minutes and there's barely any hand-to-hand action or combat. The zords are colourless and generic like Transformers as is the Megazord.

Bank as Rita is so tacky.

Overall, what a poor movie and an even poorer adaptation. I'm glad this bombed.

Around the Network

The fact that you are so surprised by this to make a thread is the surprising part. This movie was going to be terrible from the moment it was announced. The original movies and shows were terrible (good from a kids perspective) so I dont know why the heck they thought to make a big budget movie.

It was amazing. Favorite movie of the year so far.

It... flopped for a reason. No one wanted to see a Power Rangers movie disguised as the Breakfast Club. With the action not really properly spaced out and cramming everything in at the end. All I know, the best thing about this is the fact that PR may be dead on the big screen.
