Forums - Politics Discussion - Republican House Whip Steve Scalise, shot in Virginia mass shooting

Does this even classify as a mass shooting? I believe Rand Paul said if the police officer didn't shoot at the gunman, it would be a mass shooting...

well, it techically was. Just because the nutjob happened to be a bad shot does not change what was attempted. He fired over 50 shots from a semi auto rifle.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

"four or more people selected indiscriminately, not including the perpetrator, are killed,"

That didn't happen...

So someone is mad that all trump has done since taking office I raise the stocks to record highs getting his friends richer?

You don't say....

no sure where you are going here. The reason stocks are rising is because Trump has actually done quite a bit to spur business activity (as much as he can purely from the legislative branch) and also because the markets believe he will do more.

This particular nutjob is a leftist who was spurred into action by the media. He was a bernie bro and absolutly loved Maddow and Oliver.

ok. Mass assassination attempt. It definitly was not indiscriminant. He was particular trying to kill Republican members of congress.

But does mass shooting always have to be mass murder? Or can you mass shoot without mass murdering?

How did a guy from Illinois get a gun at all they have very strict gun laws in that state?

Yes, by the FBI's definition. I guess by the Google info FBI says that this is considered a Mass Murder but it's widely accepted as the term Mass shooting in short...they're the same thing just a different name that the FBI deems it.

It was an attempt at a mass shooting of republican congressmen. The shooter is a progressive and a bernie supporter btw. He also hates trump. It was politically motivated. I"m not surprised in all honesty with all of the recent crap happening. The regressive left has been stoking the flames for a while with their divisive rhetoric.

Trump's popularity will increase as a result of every attack upon him and his followers.

This is much more than that. There was 20 something republican congressmen at that baseball practice. I'm sure that guy intended to off as many as possible but luckily, Scalise had some foresight with having armed security and cops there.

Nope, he said:

Which means that there would've been nothing between them and Hodginkson to prevent Hodginkson from killing everyone there without the police. The agents were able to help everyone keep cover until the city and state police came and killed Hodginkson
