So buy an objectively inferior option to avoid a minor inconvience?  Nonsense.  In a case where one is forking over that kind of cash, you're gonna want to move some things around to make it work best for you.  Also you could, idk, just play it on your monitor(s)?

Not sure if you are making sense.  I have a damn nice 4K HDR 55 inch TV.  I want to sit at my couch and play my games on that beauty.  Why would I want to play on my monitor.  I use my PC for work and other stuff.  Why would I want to move it to the living room them move it back to my office to work.  You call it a minor inconvience, I see something that is minor becoming a pain in the butt when you are doing it multiple times a day, a week, a month.  Lugging my PC to the living room which is downstairs, lugging it back.  Hooking up cables, taking them apart.  Yeah, very few people are going to do this and its the reason such setups are extreamly niche.

This is why you have a dedicated PC, just like you have a dedicated console. Do you move your console from room to room regulary, I would assume not since most people don't.

With a PC connected to your TV you can use it as a media only platform and navigate it with an Xbox controller, PS4 Controller or a Steam controller. You can quickly download a torrent then move over to the game you want to play and have better quality. That way you get to use your nice 4K TV and don't have to move your PC from room to room.

However, I think you missed this perosn's point, they were not talking about contantly moving your PC from room to room but rather to move your PC to your living/media room and then maybe just getting a smaller box to do more work related stuff, or have two amazing PC's that can run all games. One being relegated to Couch gaming and the other to more standard PC gaming.

Being able to buy and play a game on Xbox and Windows is a great plus and really convenient and Microsoft pushed for that.

I agree, Microsoft's version of cross-buy / cross-play / cross-save is awesome. So is Sony's version of these features. The Switch's feature to play games either on the go or (in better quality) on TV is also a great plus and really convenient.

Now of course some want to convince others that this is a bad things for Xbox gamers to have more options, it really depends greatly on the agenda of everyone who is using the word "exclusive" in any post or sentence to be honest :)

Not everyone pointing out that a game can't be a "real" exclusive if it is available on more than one platform wants to convince others that the lack of "exclusivity" is a bad thing.

I have a plex setup and yes I have all the media capability using the X1/PS4 and the app streaming media from my PC.  I need a decent machine to do development work not going to purchase another PC just for gaming.  Your ideal sounds good but it also sound costly.

Why are we changing the definition of an exclusive?

If it's on more than one platform it isn't an exclusive. Even if it's lbp3 that came out onPS3/4, it's not a PS4 exclusive because you don't need a PS4 to play it. Adding multiple terms into exclusive loses its meaning.

It's like saying Minecraft cross play is a Microsoft, steam and Nintendo exclusive feature. It's madness

If they want my money, release games that I can't buy on PC...

Don't they get your money whether you buy it on PC or console? It's still a sale.

If its first party, they get money. If its third party and I buy it on Steam, they get nothing. So, they won't see money from Cuphead (Steam) and they will have to split profits of State of Decay and Ori 2 with Steam. I assume the others are Windows Store Exclusive.

However, if they can't convince me to buy their console, they lose out on all the money I would be spending on non-exclusive titles (and the increased likelihood of me buying exclusive titles). That is more what I was trying to say.

Why are people bringing up the Vita? Is the Vita equal or better in power to the PS4?

No, the Vita ain't equal or better in power to the PS4.

Is the Vita a better option than the PS4?

For some games yes, especially if you want to play them on the go.

You can't play PS4 games or third party on the go because the Vita can not run them and neither can the Switch. A game like GOW would melt the Vita if you tried to render the wire frame on it.

Newsflash: not every PS4 game needs the full resources of the hardware. There are a lot of PS4 games that can also run on Switch or even Vita with no other downgrades than the resolution.

The keyword is "some" :)

News flash  are talking about high quality games. You know the games that people actually want that sells the console? No one buys PS4 to play a Vita level game.

The point being, if, for example, a catalog of games builds up for the "exclusive console", why would one invest in a $500 Xbox when for just a bit more(if needed) you can play all of it's games + do whatever a PC does?

How many people actually hook up their PC to their TV.  I have a gaming PC but I have absolutly no wish to put it in my living room hooked up to my PC.  If anything that would be the last thing I would do because i use it for work as well.  So when people say, why would I invest in a 500 xbox my reason is because my PC is regulated as a PC not a home entertaiment system.

Not to derail, but as a side note, they sell these at Walmart and Best Buy and Gamestop and Amazon...

You can even use PS4 and XB1 controllers with it, as well as keyboard and mouse, and it works pretty well.
