Forums - Gaming Discussion - If it's on a Microsoft console AND the PC, it's an exclusive.

Let's face it.  We have three major competitors, and they all want our money.  And what makes one stand out from the rest... EXCLUSIVES!  If a title is released on both the Xbox One and the PC, then it's exclusive to Microsoft.  So Microsoft reaps the benefit whether the title is bought on the One or a Window based PC.  The same with Sony with Persona 5 being released on the PS4 and the PS3.  And we've had titles to be released on both the PS4 and the PC.  If one can make the argument that "Why do I need an Xbox One when I can play it on the PC?", why can't the same be argued against the PS4 when that game is also on the PC?  The exclusivity, I think, refers more to the competing company rather than the hardware itself.

Nope. Would mean a game exclusive to PC, like Total War, is also "Microsoft exclusive". Ya, nonsense.

Hunting Season is done...

I always thought this too and in fact that's how it is. The alternative is just what people say to convince themselves the the platform they dislike is worthless.

Plus the combo of console + high end PC is rare. I know 30+ gamers. The only one who has a console + gaming compere is ME. And I don't even game on it.

If I can only buy the game on PC from a Microsoft source then I'm fine with calling it an "Xbox exclusive". If I can buy it from Steam? No, it's not.

Not really........

No. If I can get it on another platform, like PC, then it's not exclusive. Why would I ever buy an Xbox version over PC?

I don't think there has been any other word that have gone through this many changes in its "meaning" as the word "exclusive" this generation

Windows 10 - I'll give you.
Steam - no.

That would mean something like Nier automata is both a PS4 exclusive.. and a Microsoft exclusive.

Something like cuphead that is on Windows 10 AND steam... I'll still give you since the "not on another platform" kind of thing.

How about the first three titles of the Neptunia Re;birth series?  It's on VITA and Steam.

Alternative console exclusive facts...
