not smart. just arrogant. no one should defend sony in this..

This is very encouraging as I'd been wondering if the Switch was capable of that sort of thing. Really, if they could just get an Overwatch port they'd be golden... I know if I was still in college I'd love to be able to play some of those games on the go between classes and such, and even now I find times perfectly filled by MK8D.

The performance of this and the coming NBA2K/FIFA games will play a big role in determining whether western 3rd parties begin providing ports for the Switch or not. I'll certainly be getting all three myself :)

Wtf! That is not smart! That is a shitty decision to do by Sony. 

Anyone else a bit confused about what Sony and MS's policies on cross-play are? Sony seem to be totally fine with stuff like FF14, but not MC and RL (except sometimes PC?). MS seem totally fine with the latter two, but FF14 can burn in a fire.

Bleh.

They are market leaders meaning most people playing are on PS4. If somebody wants to play with a friend they more often than not need a PS4 and not one of the competitors devices. If they allowed crossplay I could buy an Xbox instead and that's a lost sale to Sony.

With things like the rumors of them specifically icing Nintendo out of Monster Hunter World and their reluctance to allow crossplay with Nintendo and Microsoft, it looks like Sony is heading into another bout of hubris.

Sony are fine with PC crossplay, guess they don't see them as there direct competitors.

MS seem to have changed there stance since FF14 and will allow crossplay with anyone because it benefits there platforms.
