Holy shit this is amazing!!

Bandai Namco revealed in this week’s issue of Famitsu .hack//G.U. Last Recode, an HD remaster of the PS2 RPG series .hack//G.U. by CyberConnect2. The HD remaster has new elements that’ll “make it feel like a new game.”

The title is being made as part of the .hack series’ 15th anniversary. Daisuke Uchiyama who was the producer of the .hack and .hack//G.U. games and now a corporate executive officer of Bandai Namco talks more about the game in an interview with CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, who is currently working on the HD remaster.

While no further details were shared about the new title, they say that it won’t be a simple HD remaster but a newly reborn .hack//G.U. with enhanced graphics, systems, and elements that’ll make it feel like a new game without taking away from the original work.

Her English VA? Yeah sadly, it was terrible. Actually one of the main reasons why I started playing with Japanese voice overs from Vol 2 and beyond.

Hopefully they recast for the English release this time around, or include Dual Audio.

Thank goodness for my modded PS2. The best console I ever owned.
Sounds like they're making a lot of changes so I wouldn't be surprised. Also I like this info:

-G.U. doesn't end in 3 volumes, but there is a real salvation? You will know the answer in this game
-Next project is in works, but it will take time. It will depend on Bandai Namco
