where was Red Dead Redemption?

where was TLoU2?

where was Sucker Punches new game?

Ask Rockstar. Its well known by now that Rockstar rarely ever comes or shows anything at E3. Just an unrealistic expectation.

TloU2 was obviously not going to be at the show. It was revealed with the words 'super early development'. Next time you see TloU2 is at PSX this year, earliest. I think this is unrealistic to have expected too.

But you do have a legitimate question in Sucker Punch. Its probably a late 2018, 2019 game at this point. Sony probably thought it better not to show reveal it so soon out. But yeah, dissappointing that didnt make it into the show.

then why announce TLoU2 at PSX if its gonna skip E3. bad decision right there.

i know it was confirmed not to be at the show before, but death stranding should have been at this years E3. if they announced a game after 6 months after it started development, they better show it at the E3 when it actually had a year and a half of development time.

Sucker Punch being there was heavily expected. its been 3+ years since they last release a game. its disappointing to not see what they are working on finally.

also i am disappointed that Detroit still has NO RELEASE DATE. that game was announced in 2015!

Worst E3 ever. Sony and Ubi - so-so, EA and Microsoft - garbage.

If Sony hadn't announced TLOU: Part 2 and Wipeout back in december they could have had an amazing conference. They just didn't have enough new announcements this year to support 2 conferences.

I think the conferences have been fine in terms of games. Perhaps the main issue is the lack of big surprise reveals we've come to expect from Sony especially. I still think the games that have been shown are very interesting and there are many I'm genuinely interesting.

y.

The issue is that people expect these megatons every year, no matter when the game is *actually* launching.

Detroit doesn't have a release date, but it was shown WAY too early. If it's coming in 2018 I'd rather they tease us at PSX or The Game Awards than 3+ years in advance at E3

Announcements like FF7 can set the world on fire but what good is it if it's so far away? FFXV, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Dead Island 2 were all shown at E3 2013, and the 1st two aren't coming any time soon. What good is a tease like that when the game isn't releasing for 5+ years??

Death Stranding is far off too, and shouldn't have been announced last year. Sucker Punch is coming, but if it's a late 2018 game then they should save it for next year. Sony should primarily focus on this year and early next year at E3 like MS/ Nintendo. Does it mean fewer bombs? Yeah, but also fewer games like Dreams where we constantly question it's existence because we haven't seen it.

Pardon the formatting. This site sucks on mobile.

Monster Hunter and Anthem are big e3 announcements.

Other then that yeah it was disappointing, but that's due to many games being announced previously.

If they showed RDR2 it would have been way better.

A shame so many users dismissed Nintendo even before they had a chance to show their software.

I can only comment on my personal feelings but with Sony and Microsoft, it was just another same old, same old showing. It feels like both of them are just stuck on a treadmill, trying to do the same thing every year only bigger and better. Nintendo on the other hand, the Switch is just... it's a wtf thing. Getting news that a true Pokemon is going to be on their home console is just, wow. Mario is throwing his hat on shit and morphing into dinosaurs... it's insane.

So for me? Nintendo brought the goods. The other guys, meh.

On second thought, it's better if people underestimate Nintendo.

There's a greater chance one comes away from a Nintendo showing impressed than disappointed.

Stay humble, Nintendo.

Microsoft: New powerful hardware and price were basically all they had going for them. It would take time to showcase games that take advantage of the power. At the same time, they don't want up alienate fans who bought an Xbox One in the last few years. Tough line to walk.

Meanwhile Sony probably thought: both competitors are going to be showcasing new hardware and software to take advantage. How can we compete? Let's just show some games. No point in any "megatons". We're winning anyway.

And Nintendo (who I actually enjoyed) never have a full presentation these days. And, despite the love that the Switch is getting, still just don't have that third party support.
