God of war looked great. Everything else a bit meh. But I liked the amount of gameplay shown.

So, how was the screening at your theater ?? Was it like the crowd in the conference ? |
Meh, it wasn't anything too special, we all laughed during the audio issues.
The crowd went crazy for Undertale (ugh) and God of War.

7/10. God of War's combat is looking more promising. The Zombie game is still forgettable. Detroit still looks good. The new Shadow of the Colossus remake looks like absolute shit.
Meh. Nothing but filler. Did they blow all their adventure and RPG load already?
Ni no Kuni is the only thing that has my attention but they didn't have anything amazing there like a CE.
They needed an ace in the sleeve like a Horizon Zero Dawn or The Last of Us level of new IP reveal this year.
Every year since PS4 they've had a nuclear bomb reveal (TLG, HZD, FF7, etc) and there was nothing like that this time.
When Spiderman makes the list of games people remember from E3 that's telling.

So you don't want to sneak into someone's house as a robot and suffocate them with a pillow? Maybe it will have multiplayer and we can team up and poison the city's water supply. |
Oh yeah, the whole premisse and trailer were nauseating to me, I hated.
In other hand, Days Gone looks amazing.

After playing through the game like 5 times back when it came out, my love for it slowly depreciated I guess, and the fanbase is just incredibly annoying to the point where I didn't care about the game.
(Or maybe I love Futaba so much that I don't care for RPGs not called Persona.)

It's the only conference I have watched until now and most of the games they showed weren't really my cup of tea. God of War looked great graphically and I liked that the combat seems faster than the first time they showed it. That Spider-Man game looked fun at parts but I felt it had way too many QTE's, I hope the full game isn't like that. Also, not enough japanese games for my taste. If I had to rate the conference I'd give it a 6/10.
7.5 from me. It was a good show, but a step down from 2015 and 2016.
Pros:
- Shadow of the Colossus. A PS2 remake isn't exactly a megabomb, but it was a great surprise.
- Spider-Man looks fantastic. I felt like i was watching an actual spider-man movie, both during cut-scenes and gameplay.
- Days Gone looked much better. During the first few minutes of the demo i had the same reservations as before, but once they started showing more of the world dynamics it got a lot more interesting. The zombies being more of a "do not fuck with this" element than a pure bullet sponge blob was good to see.
- Horizon DLC this year! I figured it'd be early next year, so this was a pleasant surprise.
- The presentation was just as snappy as last year. I hope this becomes a permanent thing for Sony and MS.
- Release dates. I don't doubt something will get delayed, but it was nice to see a 2018 next to almost everything from Sony.
Neutral:
- As great as UC and GoW looked, we've already seen gameplay for both of them before. Their presence was inevitable, but i'm no more or less excited for either than i was before the show started.
- Relatively lengthy PSVR section. I guess it's a good sign that Sony are still giving it so much attention, but i'd have preferred they condense this section down a bit.
- Monster Hunter. A lot of people seem to love the series, but I've never been able to drum up much excitement for it. It looked pretty mediocrore to me, and i don't doubt i'll feel the same way about MH5 when that's eventually announced for whatever platform.
Cons:
- The big one: No major reveals. I guess it was inevitable we'd have a show like this at some point given Sony effectively have 2 E3's a year, but it was still disappointing. Hopefully the PlayStation Experience is where we'll get the spicy meatballs.
- No TLOU2 gameplay :( I had dreams, and they've stayed dreams.

I found the angle a little off-putting as well. I don't think it will l stop me from buying it, but yeah, felt weird.

5/10 for me.
