It's a realistic price for the guts. Doesn't sound like they don't want to take a big wash on it. Phil wasn't kidding about that premium price, and I'm sorry I doubted him. This is for the Xbox hardcore, really.

I just don't get what this thing is supposed to achieve with such mismatched components. Those Jaguar cores are gonna be like trying to game on a rig with a GTX 1080 bottlenecked by a Core 2 Quad or something (Maybe not quite that bad, but FX sucked so badly that I wouldn't doubt it). You'd probably be better off ordering a GTX 1070 for almost $100 cheaper and sticking it in a moderately current desktop.

This baby is waiting for me!....
Cannot pre-order yet tho... because the FCC did not approved it yet ffs (in Canada at least...)

True, but every console with have their own third party games. Personally can't wait for player unknown battlegrounds. Seen a lot of PC players playing on twitch and it was bad ass. Just can't stand pc gaming or pc users.

They do, but PS4 has been doing well with that lately. And this late in the game given PS4's position, we will more commonly find that happening on PS4, and rarely on XBO. It basically comes down to MS having to pay a lot for it to happen, and Sony getting some nice Japanese games for free just because. Of course this is still the exception rather than the rule, but it's certainly a nice perk.

I'm also not much of a PC gamer, so PC is not really an option for me. Maybe if I took the time and effort to set up a rig properly to my TV, and all that. But I don't see myself doing that.

True, but some of those niche Japanese games don't appeal to me (I did like Nioh) or a lot of western audience that is why it's a ps4/ps3 exclusive like persona in the first place. I want a lot of PC games like City Skylines, Player Unknown and Star Citizens (please Phil give me this game some how), but I don't want a pc rig at all.

Overall, I think Microsoft e3 was an 8/10 , but the lack of a NEW AAA exclusive was bullocks. I honestly thought that new EA game they ended with was going to be at least an Xbox / PC exclusive game like the original Titanfall.

Does it come with Kinect at that price?

That's cool, i'll get the Xbox One X before end of year.

That probably only sounds high to some people because they were strongly predicting $399. All things considered it seems like MS doesn't want to take a major financial hit on XOX (kiss hug kiss) in order to get higher sales.

Sensible in the longterm perspective. Profitability of the Xbox is more important than number of units sold and it's clear XOS will be an important unit for entry-level buyers for a few years yet. They possibly looked at PS4 vs PS4P sales and realised that the premium unit is not going to supersede the base unit in sales volume, so there is no point trying to take a volume approach to XOX at the cost of profitability.

Might not be bad for what you get for the money, but I think we'll have to wait and see before making further judgement. That said, it's still expensive.

This isn't a new console generation. Games work on all Xbox devices. They can price it this way as a result. I don't like the price. So guess what? I play on my XBone and still have fun. Upgrade when the price fits my budget.

499$ was expected, but that was the point where I knew that MS wont gain any ground over Sony, not even the US. Also the retail exclusives for this Q4 seems a bit bare as well. I am now really curious if Sony will leave the PS4 in auto-pilot or go all-out tomorrow.

The machine looks awesome, but that ammount of money for a mid-gen upgrade 4 years into the console cycle is way to much.

Definitely agree.  This isn't going to hurt the PS4 at all.  And Sony is going to be cutting the price to $349 this year, too.  They could go $299 if they wanted to put the final nail in the Scorpio, but I only see a $50 cut, now.  But, that's still a $150 difference.  That's too much to justify the purchase for most consumers.  Especially with very few exclusives coming.

499 dollars are a joke. And no "xbox one exclusive-game" looks like Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4 or the new God of War on the microsoft-press conferenz. So..why .. 4k and a new xbox-upgrade? It makes no sense. Microsoft might just want to make a lot of money, i think. 499 dollars ... really ?!

i vote for "tooo high".

And here's the big negative for the Scorpio.  It has no exclusive that is pushing the system to its limits, making a purchase more desirable.  And a lot of what they showed was indies that would look exactly the same on the Pro.  Or multiplats that are still going to look damn good on the Pro.

Crackdown 3 was supposed to be a graphics showcase, but I guess MS cut the budget, cause what they showed was not very impressive.  Generic even.
