Update: please do not make a big deal about my Nintendo comments. They are just my opinions. This is how I feel, but I'm open to being wrong too. Thanks.

Wow, E3 is about to start! The past few years have been disappointing IMO, but I am excited this year for a change. This E3 will likely decide the fate of Xbox and Switch. Sony is almost untouchable now, so I exclude them, however, they could lose market share in the US, UK, and Australia if they don't bring the games in spades!

I hope to hear good news on FF7 remake, Super Street Fighter 5, Dragon Ball Fighters (looks amazing/looks like playing the anime from the shots) Marvel VS Capcom Infinite, the new game from Vanillaware, FF12 HD, Dragon Quest 11, Bloodstained, etc. Yes, I much prefer Japanese games to American shooter fest clones and Grand Theft Auto/Red Dead Redemption type stuff. Also I am not into online multiplayer much. I go online mainly for trophies. So no Destiny too much, Call of repetitiveness, or Grand Theft Evil. These are my opinions, don't hate please. This is what I think of them. I'm not saying not to buy Call of Duty WW2. It's your choice. I'm not putting you down. Anyway, moving on.

My opinions on Microsoft: I think they are scared. At least the Xbox division. Xbox has almost become irrelevant in the last 5 months. Only one major release: Halo Wars 2. It bombed. PS4, and now Switch, are slaughtering Xbox One worldwide. Even in the US, Xbox is 3rd place weekly.  They have desperately cut XB1 pricing to combat the PS4 Gold edition. They are selling XB1s for $50 cheaper than the PS4. It may help them a bit for short term, so it may be a wise move, despite it looking desperate.

I think nearly all is riding on Scorpio, though. If they don't wow the crowds with amazing games at a decent price, Phil Spencers job may be in danger along with the Xbox brand. They MUST bring the games! Not just Halo, Forza, and Gears, but Fable, new IP, Japanese games, indie games, etc. They also need to get competitive again with marketing deals and exclusive timed content like they used to.

Now on to Nintendo. Despite the tremendous surprise success of the Switch, they have chosen to hide behind cameras and skip E3 AGAIN! This is either a move of cowardice or to be cheap and save money. They NEED to come to E3 and make a bold presentation again.

If Nintendo fails to sell 3rd party games well again, then it will only stay successful when Nintendo made games release. That means there will be slow periods. They should highly support the 3rd parties and encourage the Nintendo faithful to buy them too. I think the Switch Mania will fizzle out everywhere but in Japan unless Nintendo fully addresses the 3rd party issue correctly. Just like Microsoft and Sony, they need to bring the games, but show great support for 3rd parties as well.

There's little to say about Sony and PlayStation. They are so far ahead of the other 2s game that they are at a comfortable spot. They have the most exclusives, most variety (east and west) the most consoles sold, and the most powerful console for a little longer. They mainly just need to deliver quality games.

However, they could combat Switch and Scorpio with lower pricing; especially with PS4 pro. They need a Gold edition PS4 pro (or another special edition)  with 1.5 to 2 terabytes with a pack in game like Horizon for $350. Plus they should push developers to take more advantage of the pro's full power.

In closing, I plan to do my first nice and honest E3 report card for each of the big 3 shows after they have all ended. A to F, the US standard of grading. A is best and F worst. I'm tempted to give Nintendo an F for not showing up, but I will be nice and grade their Direct.

Cmon man. Aren't you a little disappointed that they aren't even showing up?

Nintendo choosing to not go for a traditional press conference does not mean that they are skipping E3. If they were truly doing that, they wouldn't be there at all (no Treehouse, no tournaments, no nothing).

Mostly a good assesment; however I disagree on one thing about your opinion : nintendo's directs. Ninty WON E3 2014 cause of it, and did great in 2015 as well. Ninty doesn't need a press conferance. If anything they 'skipped' last E3 by NOT doing a direct.

About ninty droughts, that is going to be FAR less likly this gen because most of ninty's resources will go to switch and switch alone. We are basically going to have double the output from them.

Also one detail: sony is going to start to REALLY trail behind in japan. With there being no new handheld in sight, sony's gradp on the japanese market is going to plummet drastically. The ps4 was just a wii U competitor there trying to catch up untill it did... last october, when the switch was announced. In the portable dominated japanese market, it might just get most smaller japanese devs to switch over. After all where will all the vita games go, ps4? No.

Oh, people still don't know what E3 actually is.

Last I checked they were having a Spotlight on Tuesday, I consider that showing up

Nintendo is a grown-up. They can run their business the way they think best. "Cowardice" is complete nonsense.

More like, I have zero faith in your sincerity.

I understand that they are making a small effort, but look at Microsoft. They are up first, with the most to lose. But they are boldly making an effort with a long press conference, not a video. I respect that.

The Scorpio is definitely a powerful system, but I care about exclusives more than that. I hope the Microsoft press conference is great.
