Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch Dock Clone From China Ready

Something some Switch owners may want, the dock verification method that the Switch uses has apparently been cracked, so this Chinese company is apparently making what are effectively third party Switch docks. They are much smaller than the Switch dock and will be about $50.

As you can see this would be much easier for having a much more portable option for Switch users who want to use the device on a TV in a pinch. I'll probably try and get one. It even looks like it has USB ports on it.

So, I assume this will be a cat and mouse, where it's cracked, then Nintendo make an update, and then repeat over and over.

Wow, Nintendo should copy their method, much safer for the screen than the dock station.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

It is a pity, cause I would be very interested in buying this if I had a Nintendo Switch. It looks safer for the screen.

Incoming stability update!

If you lay it down like that, the back air intake will be covered. Bad idea. Also no charger included, that'll run you another 30$

It won't be long before other companies do alternatives and prices will be pushed down.I can't see how Nintendo can prevent their use as there is no firmware in the dock. If it is seen as the same as the Nintendo dock it will work. Makes the Switch more appealing if you can share it between 2 locations without the excessive Nintendo pricing for the second dock. To be honest $25/£20 is easily achievable as there is nothing of value tech wise in the dock. I do want a dock though not just a dongle as shown above. I know I can use some other sort of cradle but would prefer the cradle/dock to be part of the design so the Switch slides in nicely but perhaps has no front section so the screen cannot get scratched.

Didn't Filip on YouTube find a third party switch dock?

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

It takes an absolut idiot or genius to scratch the screen from the dock. Seriously, I've tried to replicate a reasonable screenscratching scenario and I just cant do it.

It's no issue. At all.

Wrong, its quite the opposite. Only an idiot would scratch the screen as long as the dock is not defective or something.
