Na, I dont see how the PS4 has sold 2 million units in 45 days. THey've had no major releases in the time and the baseline hasnt been as high to achieve 60M yet.

Well they reported 60m shipped as of 31st March. There can't have been that many of those unsold still, the 2.7m difference between VGC's sell through and Sony's shipped seems too high at least.

Would be kinda surprising if their sell through hasn't passed 60m now given that shipment figure.

Then you don't know the difference between Sony's shipments and sell-trough by the begining of January...

Let me help you... Add 1m to 2.7m!

No surprises no Mario Kart's success but half a million of 1-2 Switch sold!

Some people have more money than sense.

How well did Singstar do in it's heyday? Buzz? Just Dance?

Just like 1-2 Switch, these are the kind of games that attract pure casuals who just want to have some fun with friends when having a party or just being drunk enough. They are not meant for gamers like us, but for people who normally don't play videogames (outside of Smartphone and/or Facebook) but want to have some fun with friends when they come to visit.

Without Singstar, the PS2 wouldn't even have come close to 150M, without the Wii series, the Wii wouldn't have come close to 100M and without 1-2 Switch, the Switch wouldn't have had such a great start

The Switch isn't selling because of 1-2 Switch, it's selling because it's an appealing concept with effective marketing that launched with a potent killer app in Breath of the Wild.

Take away 1-2 Switch and the system would still be selling great. There's none of the buzz surrounding it that made Wii Sports a phenomenon, it's not a system seller.

I'm fully aware that Zelda and MK8Dx are doing most of the heavy lifting in sales right now. But I'm pretty sure sales would be some 1-200k lower without 1-2 Switch. That's not very much, but it's something already.

I honestly doubt there'd be a significant shortfall at all. It's just not the kind of game that sells a $299 piece of hardware.

At least now we got info about this

VGC must have been undertracking the PS4 for the entire year, because there's no way the PS4 sold 2 million in may alone.

What this has to do with my post ?

It's May - 11th of June,  that's six weeks...

400k on average per week for ps4 to hit that number here as of 11th June... I agree with you, albeit the error isn't big precentage wise!

When was the silver/gold 249$ 1TB and the 199euros deal initiated ?

( I ask that because ps4 might have sold 500-600k in that week )

As for the entire year undertracking, you have to be right, because PS4 went from overtracked by 400k as of 2016 to be undertracked by that number as of the 11th of June !

You were arguing against the PS4 being undertracked. Sony just gave us info that proved that the PS4 is undertracked. So it has a lot to do with your post

Ah teeqoz... Ah!

I wasn't, I was arguing against kapi thinking that is impossible for 2.7m ps4 units being on the shelves...
