Not even a contest for me. I love rpgs and ps1 had tons and tons of great ones. Had a huge diverse library alongside the rpgs also.

The N64 had some great games but they were sprinkled throughout a rather small and lackluster library.

A better competition would be ps1 vs snes.

This question is probably the most heated one, but I'll go with PS1! PS1! PS1! I love that console to death!!

The N64 had some amazing games, but PS1 is on a whole different level, hell, no other console came close to it.

N64 has 3 of my top 6 favourite games of all time. 'Nuff said

I've never had more fun with couch multiplayer than I did with the N64: 007, World is Not Enough, Battletanx, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Wave Race, Duke Nukem, Mario Party....there are probably many more that I'm forgetting. That system gave (and still gives) me so much joy with its multiplayer.

But I'd probably still give the "quality" label to PS1. There were just so many more games to choose from in the end that no matter who you were, there was a game for you. Absolutely iconic games that defined its generation.

I liked both a lot. I also had a ton of fun with Saturn. But, the reality is that the PS1 was (is?) the far more significant system, in terms of its impact on gaming. So, its an easy choice for favorite of the two listed.

N64, as that was the only console I owned that gen. I was just never pulled in to the PS1, and I honestly felt the PS1 had weird visuals that made games look weird, like everything moved in such a fuzzy way.

Good pick of a game. I really loved that one back in the day : D

You could play it today on the Wii VC and it still holds up :P
