Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Project Scorpio unlocked to now have 9GB of GDDR5 ram for developers

I really don't get how will be working the games on the 2 systems... 2 instalation files, one for each system(one and Scorpio)?
, could I choose to just use the regular xbox one version of the game on my Scorpio to earn in load time instead of graphics?

Impressive. Xbox One & PS4 have 5 GB for games, right? And PS4 Pro 5.5 GB.

The normal PS4 is supposedly 5.5 GB for games.

Not sure about the PS4pro, but it has 1 GB more total than the normal 8GB of the PS4's.

Nice. Nothing earth shaking but still good to know.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Should have just put more memory in to begin with, leaves way too easy a path to be overtaken again in the not to distant future, and if Scorpio loses its "most powerful console" shtick, it loses everything.

Its a mid gen console, why makes you think this is the last iteration for MS.  If anything when Sony is ready for their next gen so will MS.  The PS4 Pro and Scorpio will be the low end while the new consoles will be the high.  Having the scorpio as your low end seems pretty good for MS

Am I the only one not excited about these specs from Scorpio? I mean 9GB ram is great, but knowing that there won't be any Scorpio exclusives making use of it, it doesn't really excite me. It's essentially all for the benefit of 4K: higher res assets etc of current gen games. 3rd parties arent gonna make a next gen game on their own either.

I hope I'm wrong and MS shows a Scorpio exclusive.

That's actually not as much as I was thinking it would have... It's only 1 more gb than what the x1 currently has. Luckly the memory bandwidth has a good increase.

9GB usable for games on Scorpio, not 9GB total. XBO only has 5gb for games.

No, you are comparing total RAM (Xbox One) versus available RAM for games (Scorpio)

XB1 only has 5GB usable by developers, the other 3 GB is reserved for the OS/UI. This has 9 GB usable by developers, an increase of 4 GB over XB1/PS4, and an increase of 3.5 GB over PS4 Pro.
