Which of the Xbox One's flagship titles is the better game in your opinion?
The better game is... | |||
Halo 5 | 17 | 36.96% | |
Gears of War 4 | 29 | 63.04% | |
Total: | 46 |
Having played neither, Gears 4. Gears of War in general surpassed Halo for me back on the seventh generation, and I'm fairly sure Gears of War 4 carries on the tradition.
Oh, Gears 4 by a parsec.
I adore Gears 4. The campaign is robust, and packed with interesting mechanics, enemies, weather effects, and set pieces. Multiplayer is a joy, thanks to some cool modes like co-op versus. Horde mode is the deepest yet, although diminished somewhat by microtransactions (which, unfortunately, infected Halo 5 too). Plus, many of the modes are available offline with splitscreen and bots.
Halo 5, conversely, is a disappointment. Multiplayer is vastly improved over Halo 4, but it's not enough to overcome what's easily the worst campaign in the series.

Agreed with all of this and I'm a much bigger Halo fan than Gears fan. Feel like playing some more Horde...Only really played it on G4 and I loved it |
Add me on Xbox! I'm always up for some Horde or co-op versus :)
I'm Veknoid Outcast on LIVE.
I haven't played the multiplayer but if we go by singleplayer then its Gears 4 by a mile. I don't like JD at all but I enjoyed the campaign far more even if it did use horde mode a tad too many times. I was impressed by some of the different levels in Gears 4 but didn't find none of the Halo 5 maps really left an impression. The weather affects helped out the Gears 4 stages as well. I also enjoyed the nostalgia from returning characters in Gears 4 and didn't feel like the ending was cheap, even if I wish more had actually transpired during the story. Spartan Locke was a very bland lead and I found myself rather uninterested in what he did. I know I said I didn't like JD but at least he had entertaining interactions with the other characters. These games are actually rather similar when you put them up against each other. And Gears 4 actually has split screen multiplayer.
Both are sadly mediocre. I'd say Gears 4 though as I had more fun with its single player, even though characters and writing was pretty terrible. Not much of an MP guy.
