Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Call of Duty Coming To Nintendo Switch

Not really surprising when you go back and look at the CoD Support on Nintendo consoles since Gamecube. Nintendo has been supported quite well with CoD.

They'll probably port an old one. Black ops 2, cod4 or mw2.

After fifa announced they would give the Switch a lesser version I expect cod to follow.

Eh, Wii U got PS4 and Xbox One ports within the same year so.... I highly doubt Fifa was because of hardware issues. It's most likely due to deals made between EA and Sony and possibly Nintendo's desire to not push the series on Switch at this time.

I honestly think that a port would sell better than any Wii U CoD game.
Still, to actually penetrate the market and gain fans on Switch, i think the best chance would be a game that doesn't compete with PS4 and XB1's versions.

I always wanted to see a Modern Warfare trilogy on Switch.
The first 2 games are stil highly praised and would surely make people consider buying a Switch for the trilogy alone.

Switch can't run fifa to the same level as ps4. Downgrades were inevitable.

They could give Switch and inferior port of cod WW2. Or they could port an old one.  Time will tell.

Now, assuming that this is true, the question would be which one? WWII? And older one? An exclusive?

Why not all of them? Or at least a bunch? Think about it, it would be genious: like MW2, World at War, Infinity, Ghosts, all on the go. It would be crazy.

But probably a port of the new game, which is probably easy to do, since CofD always use outdated engines.

Because releasing a whole bunch of CoD games in a short span doesn't sound like a good decision to me,

The only COD games I want, the only ones that were any good in my opinion, were the world war 2 ones. I loved CoD3 and I loved World at War. I would probably buy this if it had a good campaign for the Switch, whereas I don't buy the other CoD games.

And if what most companies are saying about the Switch ports being so much easier than Wii U ports, it will hopefully happen.

They did port a few cods to the wii so I can see it since the Switch does at the very least support the latest tech

Without optimizations sure, but Fifa really isn't a graphically taxing game. Switch could definitely run it, yes probably not to the extent of PS4 but game development is becoming less and less about raw power and more and more about optimization of code and graphic techniques. Sure, Switch ports from major 3rd parties might suffer and require optimizations and become "inferior" but still. That didn't stop users from buying on Wii. The one thing I keep in mind is the playing field is similar enough on Switch and PS4 to create decent ports.

The game won't even but run on frostbite.  It's even missing modes.  That says it all..

Yes people will still buy and still have fun but that doesn't change the fact it's an inferior version.

Sweet apple pie. Can't wait to pick this up with splattoon 2.
