It will be a Pokemon Origins of sorts. A sequel, based in Kanto, with access to Johto and Alola post-game. Exclusive to Switch. The Switch's main demographic (late 20s) will eat it right up, as will I.

I actually believe they'll announce an update or something related to Pokemon GO, maybe a DLC/Event for Sun & Moon, and a spin off title whether exclusive or multiplatform. I do not expect news of a new gen or Pokemon "Stars", color me surprised if they do.

Come on Pokken/Dungeon/Rumble/etc.

It will be an exclusive pokemon game for Switch.
1. The Switch has'nt a pokemon game yet.
2. The 3DS just got the moon/sun game last fall. Why would Nintendo announce a new pokemon game for 3DS so soon after. Does'nt fit the bill.

Perhaps a battle/tournament/stadium game, like they have done for the past home consoles.
