Hironobu Sakaguchi, best known for his work on Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey, has announced the reveal of a new console game soon.

As of late, Sakaguchi has been hard at work on the mobile game Terra Battle, but according to generacionxbox, the acclaimed creator has been working on multiple projects, including one that will arrive on (as of yet an unannounced) console.

Sakaguchi plans on revealing the game on June 22nd. Interestingly enough, he has been supporting many Xbox events via his social media outlets. Could this be too good to be true to suggest a sequel to the latter two aforementioned titles? Or an Xbox exclusive new IP? Only time will tell, but stay tuned and we’ll keep you in the loop.

Wasn't The Last Story also from him? *checks Wikipedia* Yes, it was. Well, he is making very similar games for a long time now. As I do like these sort of games, it is interesting for me. So let's wait for 22nd.

Not sure about XBox though. These games are more or less japanese centric IPs, they are left for dead on the XBox. This only happens if Microsoft pays for it, and it seems to me that MS isn't as much interested to capture the japanese market as they were in the times of XB360. Well, let's see how it turns out.

Hmm, as I read up about this, an interesting information is that Mistwalker apparently is partnered with SiliconStudio for an unannounced title. This could be well this title that is according to the OP is going to be announced on 22nd.

Could be one epic game if true well luckely the 22nd isn't far away :) I am always hyped about more great japanse games and I have the luxery not to really care which platform they release on :P but I hope its a full AAA budget game for sure!

Those games on Xbox were financial failures. MS cancelled Cry On even. MS cancelled Scalebound. No presence in Japan. Why would they care about getting a JRPG at this point? More likely it's for PS4 and or Switch.

Mehh Sakaguchi is way overrated.

it was all the people at Square at the time that made those games great, then some left teams expended and they all lost their collective mojo.

Lost odyssey and The Last story was awesome RPG's.
