As long as it hurts Sony. :P On a serious note, from a consumer's standpoint it's always better to have a choice. |
Jeez, c'mon. Get your shit together.

I highly doubt it. Though, it would be interesting to see what would happen if they launched a handheld more powerful than the Switch, but for $199.
The only reason for it would be to stop Nintendo's soon to be domination in Japan. Outside of that country, it would fail and fail hard so it makes little sense otherwise.
Doubt it. If it were true Sony probably would have kept supporting the Vita to keep their handheld business alive and make sure hardcore PlayStation handheld fans kept believing in them like Nintendo did with the Wii U and Switch.
Also, the Vita is already 5.5 years old, if Sony were gonna replace a big failure like the Vita they would have done so already.
Only thing I can see Sony do is a PlayStation 4 portable if such a thing is even portable, but I'm not sure if putting the power of the PS4 in an affordable handheld is possible. HDD size would probably be quite a problem.
Imo sony should just stick to home consoles and Nintendo should stick to portables/hybrids. They both trimmed the fat from their companies and i feel like they're going to be better off in the long run because of it
As likely as the " ps5 is coming out next year" rumours 0%
I would totally buy something that had all of the controls on of a DS4 on it so Remote Play was actually worth something. I dont care about another handheld at all, just the ability to play anywhere in the house with the same controls.
Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS
I can see it happening. One thing to consider is Nintendo will be funneling the software pipeline of the 3DS, the Wii U AND the Vita all towards the Switch. Even though a PSP3 doesn't make much sense, Sony would likely do it to keep publishers and developers on their platforms. If they don't, all Japanese games would just come to the Switch.
The other reason I see it happening is that Sony will think having a handheld will stop Switch. A lot of people aren't looking forward. They see PS4 doing well in the last few years and think Sony was on top of the world (Nintendo thought that too until the Wii U actually came out). Sony is in a very bad spot because TVs are declining and Switch is making a standard home console irrelevant. Sony will have to adapt. I think they'll see PSP3 as a saving grace but they'll be sadly mistaken.

I have my doubts, but it could always happen. I'm leaning towards no though.
