Forums - Gaming Discussion - How likely is the new PS handheld rumor

No more failure potential than the Wii U, at any rate.

Despite the non-comparison, I wouldn't be so sure.

100% Fake.
Same for the ps5 before 2019.

They should go for it.

I'm not familiar with any such rumour, but if there is one, its likelihood is 100% without doubt. Now, the likelihood of the rumour being true is probably significantly less...

Might as well throw money in the streets.

As long as it hurts Sony. :P

On a serious note, from a consumer's standpoint it's always better to have a choice.

Ive had to relay this to so many people that I have lost count.

Sony said themselves that they feel handheld gaming console have no place in the industry currently. they came out and said this over a year after discontinuing the Vita, and over 6 months after dropping support for it. they have basically disowned their portable consoles, so no, I doubt any form of a new handheld sony console is in the works

Just because it's working for company A, doesn't mean that the same will happen for company B.

It's happening. I know it because a bear told me and bears don't lie!

I'm beary skeptical of this rumor. Please bear in mind the Vita bearly sold more than the WiiU. Granted, the Vita was beary popular in Japan but bearly a thing outside of it.

Also, Sony's already bearing dev time for two other platforms in the Pro and PSVR. Sony is of great bearing when it comes to consumer electronics but having yet another platform to have to develop for might prove unbearable.

Sony should just beary their Vita and focus on their hardware like the PS4 which has more bearing out in the market.

All that said, let's now lay bear this latest rumor OP is making reference to as it seems quite bear in detail.

They already have to support PSVR additional to "normal" PS4 games. I doubt they want to support 3 systems at the same time.

Ar this point, I give it 20% likelihood for this year and a 65% likelihood for next year.
