Forums - Politics Discussion - Is Terrorism eventually going to be what bans Religion in the Western World?

No, they'd have to ban Christianity too, which is the largest group in the US. Not going to happen.

Ban religion? With how much the political parties use religion to gain voters?

That is very easy to fix: they can turn the religious people into second class citizens due to how dangerous they are, so, any person confessing a faith considered dangerous (probably only christianity and islam) will not have the right to vote.

That mutes the religious votes in  the scale. But I think coercion is a must to acomplish such a goal, so, it would take many years to have a system in place to repress religion.

And, as I said, they would probably offer some form of replacement belief to keep most of people calm.

I think all this will probably calm down for now, though, as the people in charge realize they are bitting more than can chew and go back to the drawning boards.

At least as I see it there is no consensus to implement such a measure right now.

As a born-again believer in Jesus Christ myself, I see this all with a moderate angst, but I feel in my heart that, althought it is totally possible, it will not happen. Not now.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

It worked for Hitler.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

That won't solve the problem, the problem is we won't leave these people alone. For nearly 100 years we been in their countries installing puppet governments, bombing them and taking their shit. So now they in the west returning the favor. We need to leave them the fuck alone.

But of course you aren't going to mention that their Koran instructs to kill non believers right? And they kill homosexuals right? But ya make it look like we are the cause of them killing us!

Why do you treat Islam like the boogeyman? I can easily point out the same things seen in both Christianity and Judaism. The matter of fact is that Christianity got to reform- Muslims are currently in that phase.

As long as you keep thinking everything is Islam's fault, you'll miss out other types of information. I mean, what the hell do you expect? The Middle East is a fucking hellhole and we're continuing to bomb it, and yet all you can do is stick your fingers into your ear as you cry about 'dem muzlems and their koran'

If Muslims are as evil as you portray them to be, we'd be dead a long time ago. There's 1.8 billion of them. If they truly wanted to get rid of us, they could've done it a long time ago. However, history shows that's not what they did. Even during the times of Caliphates, they always travelled to spread knowledge and to gain bonds with others- just look at the Golden Age.

The Muslim community hasn't always been evil. They themselves have flaws, but what do you expect? We've caused chaos in their regions for the past 2 centuries. Expecting them to be as reformed as Christianity is as unreasonable as expecting Africa to be filled with first-world countries

Nah, you cannot ban religion. The only thing that helps is continued efforts at enlightenment.

It did. And he almost conquered the world. I imagine that if a bunch of powerful nations get into this mindset, they would p´robably force the rest of the world into their will.

The replacement for many is unfortunatly money and competition. I recently started going back to church, a lot of people in my vicinity were shocked and thought something bad had happened to me. It was an unfortunate realization that being religious isn't as accepted anymore.

No because terrorism is not a result of religion it's just a tactic used in conflicts.

Reading this kickstarted my heart with joy! Awesome news! In the crisis I faced in the last months, Matthew 5, the Sermon of the Mount, spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ, became almost second nature to me, because I read it so many times. It is what gave me strenght to endure betrayal, humiliation and loss. I want you to read it when you can.
